Byzantine/Roman succession changes

In my current Roman game, I've outlived some of my grandchildren, so the imperial succession is messed up. I feel that the following changes would help to improve the empire's succession.

1. You should be able to give the despot title to any of your descendants so that it can be granted to great and great great grandchildren.

2. The Byzantine/Roman Empire should have a unique law that allows them to choose whether they recognize the "born in the purple" trait affecting succession.

3. All of the Emperor's titles should recognize the "born in the purple" trait.

Jokes aside, there probably should be a solution to deal with an Emperor who outlives his kids. Maybe an honorary title which allows him to designate his heir in the event that a certain number of his children (2 or 3 maybe?) have died after reaching adulthood.

Being born a porphyrhogennetos didn't automatically place one child above another. It was a prestigious thing to be, but it meant nothing if your brother was the co-emperor. The Byzantine succession was rather simple in that the emperor simply appointed his favourite child as his junior co-emperor (Symbasileus).

You can already appoint a Caesar which gives a person with a better normal primogeniture claim a "born in the purple" position
