I started a game as the Zirids of Tunis, and built them up into quite a power - I owned Egypt, France, most of HRE, and all of Byzantium's land. Managing endless amounts of dukes grew tiresome, so I usurped the Byzantine Empire from the emperor (it was easiest). Who by that time was sitting somewhere in Antioch with one province and one vassal.

Anyway, there I am, a newly-minted Byzantine Emperor Jaffar I Zirid, a Sunni based in Rome. First, I get an interesting popup telling me how great it is that Rome has been restored to the Orthodox faith. If I keep this up, the message says, the great schism between Orthodoxy and Catholicism is liable to be mended.

Oh yeah, I'm thinking. Allahu Akbar! It's only a matter of time until I heal the infidel's schism. Wonder if there will be any infidels left by the time I do - there's still a few in Russia and some in Norway.

Next, I have a son born. I already have two genius sons, one is an adult and the other a teenager. The new kid is both genius and attractive, though. He also has the Born in the Purple trait. Mousing over said trait says that only kids born in the purple room of the Constantinople palace get it. This is odd, given that all the sultanas are sitting, under lock & key, in Rome.

But whatever, genius + attractive > genius. Purple is purple, who am I to argue with the rules.

Question is - should all this happen to a Maghreb Sunni Byzantine emperor, who actually screwed the old Greek one out of all his lands, vassals, and eventually his title?

Yeah it doesn't sound logical that your culture accepts born in the purple as a prestigious trait. For better integration in the game I'd prohibit switching primary title to byz and only allow born in purple, if byz is your primary title. So destryoing your old empire should simulate the temporary popularity loss trying to adopt a part of a foreign culture.
