There are only two threads on bicycle infantry in the forums, and both are pre-Waking the Tiger.
With Japan being my favorite nation to play, I was wondering if someone had figured out the best way to use this new infantry.
Needless to say, it is faster than leg infantry at 6.4 as opposed to 4, but doesn't add as much suppression as cavalry. It has a lot of different movement and combat bonus/malus compared to infantry.
Slioghtly slower over rivers, forest, but faster over hills, mountains, and with a 20% bonus in urban.
A lot of its stats are similar to infantry actually, but has 10 support equipment added per battalion. Its overall cost is slightly less than infantry as well.
I'm guessing to use it best would be to have small independent units of it. I ended up skimming over it and then just adding it to my mountain units to flesh them out to division strength instead of just a brigade. Though their speed is wasted using them like that.
Does anyone have anything to add to this?
