Buying Vicky

I'm a player of other Paradox games ( HOI2, EUIII) and i was wondering whether vicky was a good game to buy. Extending that question does buying the expansion encompass the first game as well or do i need to by vicky first and then the expansion. Thanks for the help!

As you may or may not know, Vicky emcompasses more of the actual running of the country, with much less things about the economy and government abstracted. Basically, expect to micromanage a lot and expect a very steep learning curve as opposed to HoI2 and EU3. If you get past it, you'll probably enjoy the game. And you have to buy both Vicky and the expansion.

Vicky Revolutions is not that expensive, it costs about 8€

And it makes a huge difference ingame!
