I would buy all of them except Sunset Invasion. I bought it to support Paradox but I've literally only played with it on once, and that was by accident.

This. However, if you really want to narrow it down, I'll say these three:

The Old Gods- Start date, a ton of mechanics.

Legacy of Rome: Retinues and Byzzie mechanics.

Sons of Abraham- Really expanded Catholicism. It's really important in Western Europe games

All portrait packs: Just cause.

I enjoy them all. Though havent bought conclave nor Horse Lords, nor have I updated past 2.3.3 because im stuck with limited data and id rather not use it on downloads when ive got important stuff to use it on. :/

Hi guys i am planning to buy ck2 what dlc do you recommend ill be playing mostly in india and europe !

You need Rajas of India in order to play Indian characters so that one should be top of your list. Beyond that it's really a matter of personal preference, though Sunset Invasion is probably the lowest priority.

I'd suggest getting Sons of Abraham second, in order to unlock additional Catholic mechanics. And do get Legacy of Rome if you plan to play a game as the emperor or a vassal of the Byzantine Empire. The Old Gods is generally the best recieved DLC and is essentially for playing any sort of pagan.

You NEED Rajas of India to play in India, you physically cannot if you don't have that DLC.

After that, Sons of Abraham, Sword of Islam, Charlemagne, The Old Gods, and Conclave.

Sons of Abraham fleshes out religions A TON. It is a must have!
Sword of Islam allows you to play as Muslims. I'd recommend playing as one of the Muslims in Spain or Anatolia in the later start dates if you want a nice game.
Charlemagne extends the game to 769 and gives you a decision to form a custom kingdom/empire. That adds another layer to the game, it makes you feel more attached to your kingdom, at least it does me.
The Old Gods makes Pagans playable. As a Pagan, you can raid, pillage, reform your religion, have concubines, and all that jazz. I personally play as a Pagan the majority of the time.
Conclave makes the most recent patch much better to play. The mechanics in the patch are clunky if you don't have the DLC.

Also, if you have a small amount of money, get Way of Life. It allows you to have ambitions, which lead to other events and decisions. It adds a lot of flavor, and is cheaper than the other DLC.

If you want to play in the Byzantine Empire, get Legacy of Rome! It makes it 1000% better.

if youre playing india, rajas of India is required
old gods, sword of Islam and sons of Abraham are really good to have from the get go, way of life is decent too
The republic and Legacy of Rome are fairly small and only really affect merchant republics and the byzantine empire respectively but are still good to have
the three small dlcs: ruler designer, Eu converter and the customizer are nice to have though they arent important in the slightest
Charlemange is decent when you want a new start date but a new player wouldnt be used to it, not to mention it doesnt add a lot. Horse lords is good but its not something you cant jump into
i cant judge conclave as i dont own it though i'll say im not fond of the free update stuff
Sunset invasion is the only one i cant recommend.

As everybody else said, you need Rajas of India to play in India. The logics would say that Sword of Islam should be also interesting for playing in India since Islam is pretty well implanted in North-West India and Pakistan but I don't exactly know what this DLC unlocks.
If it is required to play a muslim character, then it may be an important one; If it only unlock the possibility to play under Iqta government, it may not be a top priority as I'm not sure there are a lot of Iqta realms in India/Pakistan beside the Ghaznavids and maybe the Delhi Sultanate (well... not a top priority except if playing Iqta interests you of course).

Although, as you want to play in Europe, it is still a good DLC for playing as the Umayyads or any muslim ruler in Spain
