I watched most of the youtube videos. ( keep up the good work, the alpha is looking so much better than the other city building game I paid $80 for :\ )

I can't determine how buses work,

1. do the buses go to each stop based on the order you place the bus stops?

or is it like the other (city building game) where you just plop the stops down, then the bus does whatever (which is very silly, irritating and rage inducing).

As you plop down the bus stations it creates the bus line. The buses then drive from the depot to the bus stops in the order you placed them. Its basically a simplified version of Cities in Motion 2 way for building bus routes.

Paradox please take my money now... :)

Will there be a early access program so people can beta test/report bugs/issues/suggestions/tweaks before actual release?

It's not like the people will get the game for free, they are just paying and then volunteering their time to help make the game better.

With more eyeballs on potential problems, bugs can be squashed. This will minimize having a disastrous launch and PR nightmare like the other city building game and assassins creed unity  two big AAA studios who can write a master class on how to not launch and tarnish a brand.

Plus if the game is good as it looks you'll have a lot of people singing the praises of your game and spreading the word :) win, win for everone...

What I want to know is how buses are allocated using the funding money. Does each line get x amount of buses and funding increases number of buses on each line, or is there x amount of buses for all lines and funding distributes the buses on each line

In Cities in Motion 2 you had to buy the individual buses. Don't know if this game will go into that much detail.

It's sort of similar. You can change the budget you pay for the transport type. The more budget you pay, the more busses you'll get.

You are right. It's right in the dev diary, apparently my memory is failing :)

The bus transport is the first, low-cost choice for public transport. There are two structures required for it to work: the bus depot and bus stops. The bus depot works as the storage space for the buses in the city and when setting up new bus routes you can see the buses leaving the depot for their designated routes. Adjusting the budget for buses causes more (or less) buses to appear on the routes. One bus depot can service the whole city but a placing more than one in strategic places around the city can shorten the time when new buses reach their routes since they don't have to drive through the whole city to get there.

So the question then is, if the number of buses (total) is defined by the transport funding - how are the available vehicles divided between the many lines that will exist in the city? Is it purely on line length (e.g. if a 5 mile line gets 5 buses, then a 10 mile line would get 10) or are there algorithms to determine if a line is popular/heavily used and deserves a greater proportion of buses?
