I'm playing a Bavaria game and every war I call burgundy into they will peace out long before the war is decided. Even if it's going favorably in our favor. Not that I miss them if that's the case. But France, Poland, and Hungary all seem to usually stick around until I peace out.

Anyone else experience this with them? Or is there another country who annoys you like this?

No worse than Austria dragging you into a war every 5-10 years with everyone from the Mediterranean to the Baltic.

No worse than England dragging you into a war every 5-10 years with a Blue Blob that had a PU on Scotland and Portugal.

No. They are worse. I agree with the OP. I've always found them a useless ally. When the big boys are willing to entertain alliance offers from whatever puny country I'm playing, BUR is the last on my list. Give me DAN, POL, FRA, CAS, even ENG and HAB over the useless Burgundians any day.

And that's not even considering the possibility that your ally will vanish and join swell the ranks of the enemy at a most inopportune time, if you're still within the time of the potential inheritance event.

I actually don't know a single nation that is reliable enough to NOT peace out of wars early after a certain period of time, even if we're dominating.

If you can't nail down 100% warscore on your own, you need to keep your wars pretty short.

I know most nations will peace out eventually, but in these 3 wars they left abnormally early and weren't at war with anyone else. They did, in the 1530s stay in a nice easy war against Austria in which I took Tirol and Sundgau. I think they're going to be my next target after I eat a little more of Austria. Now who's the terrible ally?

Also, I don't think I've ever allied England and my alliances with Austria don't typically last past the first couple decades. CTAs are annoying, but I only dislike them when I'm big enough to become war leader. That way, if my side looses, I don't have to release vassals or cede territory.

I'd still say ENG is the worst. Unless you need someone to blockade ports, ENG never seems to use its transports to ferry troops around.

This is largely due to the AI's incompetence when it comes to naval invasions. I almost never take England's land forces into account in any war. Now, their navy on the other hand...

It must have something to do with their resources, compared to France and distance compared to Hungary. Or it might have something to do with your size: France may not see Bavaria as a potential threat (yet), but Burgundy might do and doesn't want you to win too heavily lest you grow too big for their taste. Just because an AI nation didn't set you as a rival it doesn't mean they're not considering you as a potential rival. (I played a couple of early games with 'aiview' on trying to learn how the AI behaves.. and they do have more than three nations they consider as rivals.) I'd be surprised if there are hard-coded things to make Burgundy more pacificist.

Burgundy's manpower is terrible (for its size), so it tends to hit 0 manpower and stop wanting to fight wars quickly. Add to that, it doesn't really want to be caught with no army with France next to it.

I´ve fought a war with Burgundy on my side and than declare war on some other nation which had Burgundy as an ally. I thought Burgundy wouldn´t not join me, but also wouldn´t join them. Well, Burgundy joined them and desintegrate from my war entirely. They didn´t peaced out and then attacked me. They´ve attacked me and at the same time dissapearred from my war. So I´ve had to kill them all at the same time :(

Yeah.

'Hey, you want to go to war against a tiny 1PM who you'll need to get MA through eight different countries to reach?'

No, Austria. No I don't. I have 40,000 men spread across the entire world.

For me the Ming is just terrible. AS ayutthaya I was at war with kachar because I wanted to eliminate them from SE Asia(where Pegu used to be) I called in Ming and Lan Xang. Do to their superior military tech and morale, we lost the battle. And what does Ming do? Nothing. Doesn't move its troops. Justs stands there. So basically I ended the war and had to release Pattani, but that's no problem because I'll just use reconquest against them.
