Woah, woah woah... hold on.

It's the year of the Lord 1512 and the Republic of Friesland (me) has Burgundy vassalized, whereupon Charles I de Bourgogne dies at 78 years young... then the event Burgundian Inheritance fires and my vassal thinks that a Hapsburg princeling will do nicely.

Before I know it, Burgundy went from a loyal vassal of mine (which costed quite a lot of aggresive expansion and dip to take, mind you) to a PU under Austria... without any say from their overlord, without even the chance of declaring a war on them to hold my vassal or anything.

What the hell?

The event should've accounted for the fact that maybe, just maybe, Burgundy wasn't independent when the event fired. Now Syndic Kai Japisk has to go out and explain a stack of 50k angry peasants (25k manning cannons, no less) that monarchy works in misterious ways and there is nothing to be done about that.

In all seriousness, Paradox, this kind of stuff is what makes me want to scrap a run and delete the save. Take this piece of feedback as you will.

Well, I would intentionally crash the game (or load the backup save) and use the "place a relative from our dynasty on their throne" vassal subject interaction to try to prevent this from happening. But maybe that just triggers the same event-chain ;)

Oh, believe me there has been no shortage of birds migrating right next to my desk, but as a republic I can't do that and it's always a Hapsburg or a frenchman.

Can't possibly integrate them before Charles turns into some sort of Methuselah with 110 years, plus I kinda lose interest in a save when I have an avian accident of any sort, so this is the save going down the drain.

Try posting this in the bug reports. They will probably try to fix it if you tell them about it and include a save.
