Do not buy techs ahead of thier times and you'll never worry about MP cost for buildings.

They SHOULD cost MP, and as someone stated, they should cost more!

10 temples = 10 basetax for 100 ADM. Try coring a 10bt province for that cheap.

Some of you seem to think buildings are weak, I can tell you they are not... Buildings are powerful and worth every MP they cost. Dont forget that most buildings provide more than one benfit. Temples add cash, of course, as well as forcelimits. Workshops increase production income as well as trade income. etc....

Provinces give more than one benefit too.

Land > Tech > Ideas > Buildings...most of the time, with some exceptions. But, buildings are not as far behind as people often seem to suggest, and are less expensive in different resources than other investments in some cases.

Manufactories (if you plan things correctly) can take less than 25 years to recoup their investment, which makes them wildly MP-efficient for increasing income.

In a lot of cases, a campaign that can spare the cash to build manufactories is already 'won', but there are certain countries that can really use them even when they aren't superpowers (Kamchatkan fur hegemon springs to mind)

Sometimes, if you don't have religious ideas, taking wrong-religion land is just going to give you long-term headaches. Presumably the land you're building buildings on is going to be less revolting.

I made a little modification to make buildings cost less MP with the increase in production efficiency to see how that changes things, and I am liking it so far.
Currently experimenting with -0.5 building powercost per 10% efficiency, and it seems to be working out to my liking.
