I can't seem to find a topic on it and it feels like a real problem in my games.

Does anyone else have the feeling that theres not enough different buildings? I have done 4 games since the dlc release in 4 different empires.
  • Evil megacorp(first time ever)
  • Xenophile/spiritualist
  • Organic hivemind(first time ever)
  • Rogue servitor(first time ever)

And not having enough buildings felt like a real problem on the later 2's. On the first 2 you can just fill planets with commercial centers and get extra amenities and credits but hive minds don't have this option and i just end up with "empty" slots on a planet that im not sure on what to do with.

Adding to this feeling is the problem that i'm just ending up building 3-4(5) types of planets
  • Science planets filled with science buildings
  • Consumer goods/alloy world filled with those buildings
  • Economic worlds(which you cant on hiveminds)
  • Strategic resource worlds which i spam those type of buildings on
  • Bio throphy worlds that i filled with all kinds of species on my rogue servitor

There are multiple other problems i feel like i'm having with buildings and planets but i just want to focus on this part for now.

Does anyone else have the same experience or am i just playing this game weird?

I can't see how it's a problem. You end up with specialized worlds - so? Yeah, they could add all sorts of different buildings. But in the end, right now game have around 12 or so various types of 'resources' - base, advanced, research, unity, naval capacity etc. Plus local planetary 'resources' - housing, amenities, stability etc. And you, as a player, balance it all out. That's basically the game. At least empire-management aspect of it. Then you have military aspect and diplomatic one (still very weak one). All of that is what makes it, well, a game.
Could devs add even more resources to manage? Sure, but why? Additional buildings - okay, but then again, what kind of resource they would give? Or what kind of bonus? Maybe some influence stuff, starbase capacity - but these would be very powerful things, you have to limit them. And if you limit them to 1 per empire - they become must-haves. So you always would be putting them somewhere, that's not that good of an idea for a building, really. Plus, don't forget, there are buildings tied to certain civics - like temple (thought it's variation of 'autochton monument') or bureaucratic complex. Plus the whole machine empire stuff

Its not just buildings I kind of feel that, the tech tree lacks variety, the 'future' we are exploring isntreally that big.

Wheres the techs that allow a syntheticaly acended race to fully upload themselves and become pure data? Or more cyberpunk, to offer a way to turn energy into virtual consumer goods I mean we already have Steam, Netflix and streaming radio, when was the last time any of you bought a boxed game?

Where is my digital imortality letting me reserect a slain leader, or even duplicate them? Theres, theres just so much unused space in science fiction in terms of tech and options it would grant.

These are all nice ideas. To implement them would be great. Before that, however, there are these little things. Like current state of the game, with borked POP growth, abysmal AI and horrible performance.
As for the new content - diplomacy is the next big thing to fix. Plus there are gameplay issues - not every good idea is a good gameplay mechanic

Oh I'm not saying this is priority 1, hell a bunch of new techs that change 'way of life' like the Virtual goodsmight make a solid smaller expansion, but it really does feel that theres not that many techs in game and particularly on the civilian side. Still its a bit reductave to say 'untill these issues every one already knows about are fixed, we must never meantion anything else' no?

It's not so much 'never mention', it's more 'it's kinda useless right now in my cynical opinion'. Ideas could be good, but right now is not the good time to suggest them - devs won't hear them because they are too busy with other stuff. And when the current storm would subside, they would be busy with the next content update - and that would be the 'right' time to discuss suggestions and additions to the game.
Thant's not to say 'never suggest anything', rather 'if suggest anything right now - do it in regards to mechanics that already require tweaking'. Like changes to growth model - current model is, understandably, is not very good and need fixing. The question is - is this tweaking would be a small scale fix or a bigger scale change? 'Cause right now you could implement bigger changes - precisely because right now game balance undergoing radical changes, so you could implement these changes in less painful ways. In either case a mechanic need fixing - why not make changes bigger. Or some things about the currently existing buildings.
Adding new stuff right now is, well, premature. At least that's how I see things.

Normal empires get more buildings which boost other buildings for my feeling/ the commercial center which feels super strong atm. if i have a planet that i just want to use for the districts in a normal empire i can do that and just fill it with commercial centers in a hivemind there is no such option. I felt it mostly in organic hivemind there is almost nothing to build on planets because you don't need consumer goods. so the only thing you really need to build are science worlds and strategic resource worlds and alloy worlds.

I would love to have more buildings to the specialisation of planets. because atm you don't have that many you have the 5% research bonus and i think robots get a alloy/consumergoods booster (not sure about normals) but organics get only the 5% research booster.
Maybe add more buildings that only get unlocked after you have 5 of one building on a planet that gives a boost to that resource.

I maybe not understating you correctly, but right now there are bonus buildings for food, minerals and energy, research and (combined) alloys and consumer goods, trade value. All of these give either flat bonus (20% for research institute, 15% for ministry of production and 20% for galactic stock exchange) or jobs, each giving 5% bonus, and t2 bonus buildings have 5 work slots, so +25%. The number might be little less, but no less then 15% for sure. While it's true that we don't have buildings with bonuses to unity, any sort of bonus naval capacity from Soldier jobs and influence - since we have no buildings that give it in 2.2, overall it's not that big of a deal

organic hiveminds dont have the ministry of production(robots have a different kind that gives the same bonus)
galactic stock exhange doesn't work in hiveminds period.(while you can still be the international market hub)

Like i said in my original post i'm mostly feeling the lack of diversity in buildings in hiveminds. And was intrested if anyone else had the same feeling

Edit: Just a stray idea that popped into my mind previously there where allot more galaxy buildings that gave empire wide buffs maybe they could add buildings like that again that require darkmatter/living metal to build that does 2 things at the same time give those resources a better purpose and add more variety in buildings.

The only thing I can say in that regards - hiveminds are a special type of empire. So them having reduced number of buildings is somewhat to be expected. They loose access to certain buildings and it's their price for hivemind empire special features.

I think that ends up being my problem with the whole new system now that i think about it. I feel like i have less choice for planets with normal empires and hiveminds get even less choice.

Have to disagree on normal empire - they have a bit more variety with new economy. Gestalts - maybe, haven't played them with 2.2 yet.

Have to disagree on normal empire - they have a bit more variety with new economy. Gestalts - maybe, haven't played them with 2.2 yet.
i would suggest trying it for yourself then.
Like i said my normal empires felt okish but that was the same time i was learning about the new system so i think that partly influenced that. After that going backwards to organic hivemend felt really bad .
