Hi, long time player coming back from a very extended break.

Can someone give me a primer or point me to some good resources on the best way to build out a working rail yard for a lumber industry?

My thanks in advance

im xbox so i make do with indy dlc, but i think you asking for good "extended" resources (mods/assets)
Other than that the wood storage yards look quite groovy when used right near the rail yard, internally inside the indy as well.
Snow runner was a good source of inspiration for my lumber indy.
Ive still got to put the cream on mine but its got the style down in concrete. im pretty sure i flick to it on my last vid

Sorry, I need you to elaborate a bit.

Which DLC are you talking about, the 'Industry' DLC that has the lumber industry I am guessing? And if you produce vids I'm happy to take a peek.

yes industry dlc,
twitch / supastalka, the 1st saved vid has prob got the lumber work, im mainly working with the river 1st, but there is a lot of work left to do with the exit but i had to stream my next vid with the new dlc first. Most likely tomorrow or next day, il be mentally prepeared for it by then. My build is rough on the builder and takes time, effort and lots of head/back of napkin planning.
So i use a non square/gridded pattern and then back fill the gaps with same trees, i also use dirt roads for most of it, with dead ends, sharp/steep turns and sketchy as frak wooden bridges (thats the snow runner inspiration). And thats totally ignoring the river/waterfall work. The shallow river at top of the fall looks boss.

Forgive the high light being cut every 30 seconds, thats twitch saving space from VODs. VODs have limited life span and ive not played for while

I have seen a couple of useful videos on YooToob about railyards - I think they were using a particular railways mod, but visually they looked pretty industrial and could be mimicked with the vanilla rail abilities.

Sorry I can't be much more helpful but hit the YouTube and search 'Cities skylines railyards' and you should come up with a few.
