Having a mountain in the city that can be transformed into ski slopes/mountaineering in the winter and bike/mountaineering in the summer, would be a nice feature and a tourist draw.

Having beaches you can develop as tourist beaches, not the old school boring beach park from past sim cities. sure, being able to make some beach a local park with a plop down would be nice. However, actually being able to put down multiple plops, piers, marinas, fishing spots and boardwalks that one could develop on so pedestrians could actually walk along the boardwalk interacting that way would be huge. These business could be accessed by road on the other side as well.

Turn a lake into a marina/fishing haven.

turn a rapid river into whitewater rafting???

massive theme park/casino districts.

Good idea! It'd be cool to create a tourist city not from casinos.

i know what you mean. or a limited theme park. why cant i actually build a Orlando fl - theme park galore, a gold coast Australia, any mountainous ski resort etc. etc. or a agricultural/foodie/wine country with the lot. ive never been to france, but the napa valley is a good tourist destination. they have their wineries and a branch of the culinary institute of America there which makes it that agricultural/foodie/wine country destination.

Exactly. I could honestly see them make a tourist themed expansion pack with these ideas. Tourism is a large field.
