Worthless guarantee

I'm playing as Luxembourg in GC. France is down to 1 province (Ile de France)and in 1540 she declares war on the french catholics. I have guaranteed their independence but i don't get a CB on france. The french catholics are allied to burgundy to whom i have given a warning. When they declare war on france (my neighbour) to honour their alliance i don't get a CB on them either.

can somebody tell me why i don't get the CB on either france or burgundy

There used to be a bug related to it, but I think it's fixed. No other info I'm afraid.

You can always edit your save file and add your CBs there though...

This is a known bug that has NOT been fixed. It's one of my little pet peeves with the game actually. You might mention it on the bug forum just to let them know that there are people that would like to be able to do this...

I hope this bug will be fixed because they are really nice features IMO if they only worked.

Happened too me once. As England, (in my first GC ever) I have France down to Artois, Ile de France, and Picardie. I have a monopoly in Ile de France, and they sanction a trade embargo against me. So I go to declare war and I don't have a CB. So I reloaded the game, and they did the same thing again (thank god!) and I marched my 75k man army into france, wasted thier 13 man army....split up my forces, and took all of france simultaneously. So now France is down to 1 province.....maybe next time I will annex them.
