Playing with 1.05c
I attack the occupied France with my US troops in ~ 1941/42
At first everything is fine. I liberate the first provinces. Vichy leaves the axis.
But whenever I breakthrough and liberate most of the other french provinces ( about 90%), the game freezes in a way that I have to restart the computer.
Its not a certain date. Its about every 2 weeks. Its like there would be some "event" that has a certain %, and whenever this event should happen the game collapses.

I once waited until whole France was annexed and there was no bug. Vichy still existed. But no France = no bug.
So its not the Vichy leaves Axis event ( if that exists...)

Has anyone experienced something like this ????
p.s.
I dont know if it happens in 1.05, because I had no nerves to wait until being invited to the allies, the axis was pretty strong in this game.

As i have said this did not happen when Germany completly annexed France ( Vichy still existed ).
So I could not liberate France then anymore.
But whenever I liberate about 90% of the occupied french provinces the game freezes.
So is there any "France is free" - event that could cause this ?

Well if nobody ever experienced something like this with the USA in France then it might not happen again whenever I start a new game with the USA.
( I finished the game with the "France annexed by Germany in 42" situation )

The only related problem I'm familiar with is that the game will CTD when annexing an alliance member. This would happen with this event:

Same here

I am experiencing the same problem. I don't remember when it started exactly. Sometime after I invaded Germany I believe. I think it's got something to do with what is in the save file. I noticed that the value of the "missiontype" attribute is decreasing and is negative but that could as well be normal.

I spent some time investigating the save file yesterday. It turned out that France puppeted Vichy before "Liberate France" event. When it fires it causes HOI to hang. I removed Vichy from allies list and cleared it's puppeted staus. That did it. I hope this helps.

It does alot, I'll add another trigger to the event then checking for puppet status.
