Bug? When 'Embracing English Culture'

When embracing English culture as William the Conqueror my culture changed to Slovene instead. I tried to change it back to Norman using debug and it changed to a different culture again.
It seems that which ever culture I try to change to in debug it changes to a different one.

I thought it might be a mod issue so I removed all the culture mods and this had no effect.

This is a pain-in-the-ass workaround. Ugh. My William became Anglo-Saxon instead of English!
