Royal marriages from nowhere

Found in v1.02.

This occured while playing China. Around 1740, I noticed that I had two royal marriages with France, both expiring in 1751. How is this possible? China is konfucian and France catholic, so it should not be possible, and the fact that I had two marriages, and never got any notice when they were offered, makes this seem a bit strange.

This might have something to do with french event 3135.

France recives several RM with random countries, maybe its so random that you can receive multiple RM with the same country.

With that even France gets a lot of marriage so it's easy to not notice them. These RM can happen with countires of diff. religion. Could that be it Antman?

I've seen that too, and written a bugzilla bug report, but I don't know what the bug number is and bugzilla seems to be down. Or maybe I just posted it in Johan's 1.03 thread?

Yes, that could be it. However, I didn't get any messages when the RM event occured, so it was quite a surprise to see that I suddenly had two RM with France.

No, I only get a notification in the message log, so I must have missed this message when France got the RM event (didn't know about this event when I wrote the report).
Both marriages would expire in 1751, so, if 1751 - lengthOfRM == date for french event -> mystery solved.

RMs are 20years IIRC, so check your log for 1731 and it should be there...

Checked my log.
The following happened in January 7th 1726:

France went with Let him become our spymaster! in Charles de Broglie.
China entered a Royal Marriage with France.
Siebenburgen entered a Royal Marriage with France.
China entered a Royal Marriage with France.
Bavaria entered a Royal Marriage with France.
Helvetia entered a Royal Marriage with France.
England entered a Royal Marriage with France.
France had Fleury .


So i guess the mystery is solved.

It is still a bug, though. You have a RM with a country, then get another RM with the same country via event.

it's the bug with those random events where you get the same country twice, just like for a royal hunt. It has nothing to do with marriages. He received them both at the same time via the same event

I'll let you change the status, I'm too tired for a war today (tomorrow, however... )

Hmm, this may be what happend with England. I added it in another thread that I got two expiration of RM with Lenape on the same day and never even had a RM (or thought I didn't) with the Lenape.
