As the British Empire, I had an imperial decadence of 4. After hosting a tournament to lower decadence, it instead shot up to 3999. Probably something wrong with the tournament event, but I can't tell for sure. A save can be provided immediately after the tournament if requested.

Thanks for all your hard work on this mod!

What I need is a save before your Imperial Decadence went up. We've had a couple of reports of this (the Imperial Decadence variable shooting up to strange values), but so far no way to actually reproduce it. If I just follow the instructions (have Imperial Decadence at 4, host a tournament), the variable goes down by 1 as it should.

Which is not to say that I don't believe you -- like I said, there's been a couple of other reports of people playing Byzantium and suddenly having the variable shoot up after a coronation or a war...but either the instructions have been too vague, there's something else involved they aren't thinking to tell us, or there's an issue on their/your side (like a mod, or we don't even know, really), as all efforts to try and re-create this haven't worked.

So we need a save where we can make it happen.

Havent played as a Norse faction in a while - doing Charlemagne start. Just had two consecutive crashes.

Common denominator seems to be that both times, I chose the Win a War ambition, won my first war, and the very next day after suing for peace crash to desktop..

Anyone experience this? Any ideas?

I can't reproduce it. Are you using any other mods? Do you have the correct checksum?

I'm running this on mac with no other mods. CK2 Plus crashes randomly in the 1240s and then when I try to relaunch it, it immediately crashes once it hits 'Loading Flags...". Right checksum, etc. Force quitting steam and relaunching will allow me to play again until the next 1240s crash. I did notice that it alters the flags of my saved game - e.g. im playing as a mongol ruler and the flag in the 'load game' area has some christian flag, but loads the right character.

Anyone had a similar issue?

e: I saw a similar issue (flags-related) on the previous page with this suggestion:

Try deleting the contents of Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\gfx and see if that clears it up.

Doing that stopped the game from crashing due to flags on startup. Still crashing randomly in the 1240s.

Gave this a try, no change as far as I can tell. I suspect deleting the contents of Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\mod\CK2Plus\gfx will have more consequences since it has quit a few. Would deleting the contents of the /flags subfolder as a first attempt provide any meaningful information even if it didn't work?

NO! Don't do that you'll break a LOT of things. The folder you cited is part of the mod, the one we told you to delete is just the game's graphics cache. BIG difference.

Ya, I figured that was what would happen, haven't done it. Still trying to figure this out. I'm surprised the fix didn't work. Assuming it's the same problem as in vanilla only it's being caused by something in the mod, there must be something the gfx folder causing it. The trouble is fixing that without collateral damage since the vanilla fix isn't finessed.

You said you were using an old save? If so, that would do it -- we added some extra titles in the last update, and that would throw off compatibility for old saves, since the "flag count" would be different. The flags certainly have no issue when starting a new game.

That is what has me confused. I started a new game and the same titles are affected the same way.

I found myself in the weird situation of taking over Ireland and it having "Empty" Crown Authority (all crown authority laws are greyed out, none are selected). I sort of suspect this occurred when the Feudal Duchy of Dehuebarth successfully pressed a claim to the Tribal Kingdom of Ireland a while ago, but it would be difficult to prove. Examining some rather old saves shows that I can't find one where Ireland was Feudal and had a Crown authority (it shows up blank when I look at it in the laws tab.)

I'm also getting a lot of crashes with CK2+. They occur quite randomly, usually just before my scheduled autosave* but also often when loading a game, pressing the "Back" button after loading a game, clicking on a scenario etc. - basically, it seems like "any time CK2+ needs to handle a bit more data than usual". I don't get any crashes in the menu using vanilla (haven't persuaded myself to actually play vanilla). Have recently reinstalled CK2 too just for good measure. Not sure if this is even solvable, maybe CK2+ has just so much extra data involved that not even my relatively new computer can handle it reliably.Though in that case, more people should be getting sporadic crashes.

*This is in part Murphy's Law, but back on my old computer, I had indeed noticed that autosaving more often seems to produce fewer crashes overall - it was a very obviously noticeable effect. No idea why it's the case.

Mmh that's strange and unfortunate, but I really still don't understand why some peaople are getiing crashes, while others don't.

My PC is relatively mediocre* (though also far beyond the minimum specs for the game), and I can play the game just fine. It stutters sometimes, and it occasionally crashes after some hours, but it usually takes so long I have made at least a manual save before it happens. The stuttering is exclusive to CK2Plus, but the crashes I also get with vanilla.

But yeah pretty much this
"any time CK2+ needs to handle a bit more data than usual"
seems to be the problem mostly, and sadly there isn't much the mod can do.
Best solution would be a native 64bit exe with more RAM allocation and higher minimum requirements. That would be CK3.
Second best is another optimization patch, which hopefully will be there with 2.4.

So for the meantime, I'd say save your "random crash" reports for after the next patch, and see if they still persist in 2.4 then :)

*My PC specs:
AMD Phenom II X4 955 @ 3.2 GHz
8 GB RAM
AMD RADEON R9 270X 2GB

CK+ Current version, + Your Personal Castle mod (compatible), i also disabled two sound files, Steam:

- 'Now he dies--quietly' decision kills my current character instead of the kidnapped character... major bug!
- Coronation Feast duel dialogue refers to the wrong character (typo), the King instead of my enemy, still effects my enemy though

I can post the screenshots if needed.

Hey I tracked this down a while ago, and managed to replicate it a couple times. As you suspect it happens when a tribal Kingdom is taken over by a feudal power. Not the best fix, but if you destroy and recreate the Kingdom in game it resolves. You can also make an event to do the same thing and it works also. I couldn't find a way to check that it was previously tribal though so I had to use one that manually triggers.

CK+ only mod, all game, mod, steam, etc. are updated.
My game setting is Charlemagne start, i am norse nordic viking, and I tried to kidnap one of my tribal vassals heir. Some popup showed up and offered me kidnap now or wait. Kidnap option has 70% chance of kidnap so i selected it and also I was raiding south while this was happening. Then suddenly game said i managed it and I can kill him but i saw that, it was my name who suppose to be death (kidnaped person). I was not kidnaped but when I selected he should die, i died myself. Every single option in there was showing me not the supposed target.

EDIT: First, I pressed first option and killed myself then I loaded it back and yet it happened again but I managed to get some screenshots. I hope you can understand what I meant with these:

Yes, we already know about the "Now he dies -- quietly" option resulting in the death of the kidnapper. It's already fixed for the next update.

Thanks for reporting it, even so.

Thanks for answering, I also wonder something. I read description of nordic religion and it says rulers can declare subugation casus belli against pagans and as far as I remember this was once in life time yet I couldn't manage to see it in my custom nordic rulers. Are there any special conditions for it?

It has to be against those in the de jure kingdom of your capital.
