Playing as Irish Reformed Celtic pagans, my succession laws are messed up. I am allowed to change to primogeniture from tanistry, but the law switches back randomly.

I suspect the problem is related to a mismatch between succession_laws.txt, SK2Plus_change_succession_laws.txt, and finally Ck2Plus_succession_law_events.txt

I'd especially look at CK2Plus_succession_law_events.txt.

Mmm. I don't understand, error is in save file or it is somewhere in game files? If error not in save file may be I should try completely wipe game from PC and reinstall with only CK2plus? No one from extra mode not really necessary.

I uploaded save on yours FileDrop. fiodor8_Naples1391_04_07..ck2. I will be grateful if you test it.

I checked, and the problem is that the Count of Faeryar is trying to create a spymaster -- but he has "noculture" for a culture, as does the province and all of Iceland.

In the past, this has generally happened when folks try to load up vanilla saves or saves from other mods with cultures that don't exist in our mod.

Celtic pagans are supposed to be locked into Tanistry -- looks like reformed celtic pagans can currently change anyhow, but the maintenance event moves them back. It's something from the AR mod, but considering the fact that there's no mention of being locked into Tanistry in the reformed description, I'll take it out of the maintenance event.

Thank you. I traced back by saves and find when it happened. I was when I installed Better looking Garbs. I load from normal saves only with CK2plus and seems all work normally.
Thnaks for help, again.

I don't get any occupy county from my prepared invasion, only the capital.
No other mod actived and checksum is collected.

Here is the save.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/8dudvek8dwrupx8/autosave.ck2?dl=0

That's interesting.

You're correct in that it's only surrendering the capital to you -- but that's not intended, as it's supposed to also give you occupied titles. The code was simply changed so that it gave you the capital as a bare minimum (in case you, say, captured the leader in combat before any occupations were complete). That worked fine previously, but it seems that now it doesn't want to do two different sets of usurpations.

Could be another undocumented change in the last mini-patch, it's hard to say. Either way this'll be fixed in the next update.

Found two weird things which may or may not be bugs:
  • Taking a loan has no negative piety modifier for player characters. When NPC's take a loan they do seem to get this.
  • The "Recently conquered" modifier seems to last longer than the "New Administration" modifier, in Vanilla this is always the other way around. I'm fairly certain "Recently conquered" is supposed to be the short-term heavy penalty, and "New Administration" the long-term medium penalty.

Not a bug per se, as they're actually different modifiers -- not sure why the player's version doesn't have a piety deduction, however. You're right that it should probably be the same for both, one way or the other.

The "Recently conquered" modifier seems to last longer than the "New Administration" modifier, in Vanilla this is always the other way around. I'm fairly certain "Recently conquered" is supposed to be the short-term heavy penalty, and "New Administration" the long-term medium penalty.

In CK2Plus, there's a set amount of time that "Recently Conquered" applies for everyone. In vanilla, the amount of time varies depending on whether the province is a different religion/culture or different religion group/culture group from the conquerors. In is not short-term vs. long-term.

The kidnap mechanic is partially broken for me. If I kidnap someone and use the save them for later option, everything is fine. I just kidnapped someone, but used the disappear quietly option instead, and *I* died under mysterious circumstances.

Checksum is fine, I'm running aesthetic mods like Revolutionary Waters, Cultural Cities and Better Garbs (I have the compatibility patches for them), and I just started using CK2+ today, subscribed on and played on Steam. No alterations of any files at all.

I doubt those mods would interfere, but I've been wrong before.

Unsure how checksum could be the same with them, however, since they change actual game files.

Regardless, which kidnap were you using? There's more than one -- was it your liege? Was it someone else?

EDIT: Never mind, I see the problem. Should be fixed in the next update.

Is it working as intended that I can only buy cultural retinues? (no other mods used, just few text file edits, like -MA from antipopes and raiding as reformed pagan) Oh, and also, aren't Poles supposed to have Hussar retinue when it comes to cultural ones?

Yes.

No, they get their very own cultural retinues (many cultures in Plus do). In vanilla, I believe they get the hussars (which they share with Hungarians and the rest of the East Slavic cultural group) in addition to the regular units.

Found a bug in steam version.

Whenever you legitimize a bastard as female, your character becomes both father and mother of the legitimized child and the true father is overwritten.

I'm guessing this is probably a savegame compatibility issue? Many CoA are blank, appearing as solid black. The effect seems to be grouped roughly by de jure kingdoms and likely religion is playing a role. At least in part it seems to be a matter of religious mismatch with the de jure title though I'm not sure against what standard. For instance in the screenshot Mauretania's CoA is fine but all duchy and count CoAs under it are black. Algeirs meanwhile has the Kingdom CoA black also. You can also see how Wales is affected from Kingdom down to county level.

The affected areas are Scotland and Wales, all of Africa (the Muslim emirates and shiekdoms in Egypt and Ifat are not affected). All Christian titles east of the Bosphorus, and south of the Caucuses (Georgia is affected, Azov and Alania are not, crusader Syria and Jerusalem are affected, de jure emirates that are Muslim are not). Farther east Zoroastrian Khwarizm is affected but it's Shia vassals are not. Orthodox and Tengri counties vassalized to Ilkhanate are black where they are de jure in Khwarizm but normal elsewhere. Unheld duke level titles of the kingdom are black while those held by Shia or Hindu characters are normal. No Muslim or Dharmic held titles are affected.

If uploading a savegame helps let me know and I'll do so.

EDIT: Forgot important info:

On Windows 8, through Steam, all DLC except Aztecs, no other mods, checksum EDDG is current.

Sorry to post again so soon after, but a little more digging turned up important new info. The same effect applies in the same de jure kingdoms across starts. It is not savegame specific. It affects Christian and Pagan held titles, never Muslim or Dharmic held ones. Persia is affected.

More interestingly sometimes when selecting a Muslim during character select they will have a Christian style CoA. This only occurs the first time a character is selected, reselecting the same character will never reproduce this, even after selecting many other characters in between. It happens rarely I need to select many different characters to get it to occur. I think I recognized one of the CoAs but I haven't managed to find a recognizable one again. Vanilla has no black CoA, but I can reproduce this second effect for Muslim and Dharmic rulers. I figure something in the /gfx folder (either the mod's and/or the base game's) must be amiss, but I don't know how to read the TGA files.

I found this: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2615535

However, since this is mod specific I wonder whether I need to delete /gfx in my base game or CK2Plus folder. The latter has many subfolders so I'd rather not try wihout being sure.

Try deleting the contents of Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\gfx and see if that clears it up.

As the British Empire, I had an imperial decadence of 4. After hosting a tournament to lower decadence, it instead shot up to 3999. Probably something wrong with the tournament event, but I can't tell for sure. A save can be provided immediately after the tournament if requested.

Thanks for all your hard work on this mod!
