V3.03.0 Fresh install and save.

Smith dynasty name is fairly common in the prereformed russian cultures. And to clarify on this what I think is happening is the AI is using the button to give a province to a random person and smiths coming out disproportionately higher than the normal russian styled names.

Also second report from the same game. AI is unwilling to disband armies on some occasions. Included save has one Novgorod army parked in a neutral province on his own border and a raiding party sitting in his own territory with neither moving at all for several years while racking up the opinion penalties.

Save

V3.03.0 Fresh install, first time ever.

I'm not sure if it's a bug or not, but when I went into the millenium bookmark and looked back on previus Byzantine emperors, I saw that, amongst other things, Basil I and Romanos Lekapenos have duplicate children as mod-added characters. To name some examples, Basil has duplicates of the first two children he had in vanilla, Anastasia and Konstantinos, and all of Romanos Lekapenos' children are duplicated - e.g. There's his eldest son named Christophoros with no children, then after him another son named 'Kristophoros' or 'Kristoforos' (can't remember which) with three children, then there's the mod-added Stephanos as well as the vanilla character who is recorded as a full emperor, even though he was only ever a co-emperor.

Has anyone else had that sort of problem? I'm not sure if there are other examples, but I just thought I should let you know. Apart from that, I'm really liking the look of this mod.

Hey, so I tried downloading the new update from the drop box. I unzipped the file and it came out as several of the individual folders (gfx, history, interface, etc.). I put all those folders into a CKII+ folder in my MOD general folder inside my CKII folder (lol) and I also put the .mod file into the general MOD folder as well. It doesn't seem to be registering though, is it possible you might know what I'm doing wrong? I'm running on a mac btw.

Do not unzip the archive within the file you downloaded. The mod file won't be able to read it if you do. Only unzip the primary file you downloaded nothing else.

Is this a bug or working as desired?

I have vassals, I am an Emperor, one vassal has a claim on a county that is adjacent to my Empire, but not in my de-jure lands. I press his claim, I win, my count now with two counties goes independent.

Why does he go independent when I press his claim? Shouldn't we press vassal claims for lower titles? It is kind of strange that: "Oh here is me getting you that fancy county you wanted. Hey! What gives? Why did you go independent just because I got you that damn county?"

Please clarify this, I am soo confused and afraid of declaring wars now =[... also, why can't I press de-jure claims on those not of my religion?

The de jure thing may be a bug, I'll have to look into it. Not being able to press de jure claims on those not of your religion is WAI though. You are meant to use holy wars for them.

Ok I can leave with the only Holy Wars option against infidels! But I have to put my lovely Byzantine game on hold, since I pressed two claims for 2 vassals not of my culture, and now I lost 10 counties, which is really morale breaking. It seriously cripples any chance of expansion through conventional means.

I must continue to say I didn't test this against targets and claims inside my de-jure land, but since there are only 2 de-jure empires in the game, all the map is not de-jure. So I tested a few more times, any vassal claim ends up with the vassal independent. Even the claim of a Count, under a Duke, under a King, under Me, goes independent. Even the tooltip says so.

The tooltip says that if I press a claim of my vassal he will not end up being my Vassal at the end.

Hi,
sry if this has been known before, just a graphical issue:
Every county on the map held by members of the "Semitic" culture group has wrongfully christian/western holding pictures.
Like this:
2014-10-05_00007.jpg
I find this highly irritating
Maybe something wrong with the interface.gfx or else (I don't know exactly how the province pictures are assigned) for the "Semitic" culture (since it doen't exist in vanilla, where there is only "Arabic")?

Smith dynasty name is fairly common in the prereformed russian cultures. And to clarify on this what I think is happening is the AI is using the button to give a province to a random person and smiths coming out disproportionately higher than the normal russian styled names.

There were just no dynasties created for the proto-russian cultures, so any created characters with random dynasties assigned would end up as 'Smith'. This should be fixed in the next build.

Out of curiosity, what culture was this for? I'm looking at the succession script, and an unreformed Celtic Pagan should be locked out of everything but Tanistry...so I'd need more details on this.

EDIT: Just tried it out in-game. As a unreformed celtic pagan, my only option to switch succession is to Tanistry. If I'm already at Tanistry, I have no option to switch to anything else.

Can you be more explicit? There are a LOT of errors in the millenium bookmark's history changes, so if you can tell me what the history for these characters should actually be, I'll just go and change them. If not, I guess I'll research it when I get time.

When you go to use the CB, there should be a tooltip that tells you whether or not the character will be your vassal afterwards. As I understand it, when you use "Claim Other" CB the claimant will remain in your realm if the new title is part of your de jure realm, their title in your realm is a higher tier than the one you claimed for them, or they're part of your dynasty.

So I'd suspect, in this case, you pressed a claim for a non-de jure title on an independent county for a vassal who was also a count and not part of your dynasty. Is this correct?

Maybe something wrong with the interface.gfx or else (I don't know exactly how the province pictures are assigned) for the "Semitic" culture (since it doen't exist in vanilla, where there is only "Arabic")?

We got rid of the cultural building mod, so we're using vanilla values, but you're probably right in that it doesn't account for our different cultural groups. I'll take a look.

Dont know if its a bug or not, but in a game I started huge number of rulers does not have a wife. I did not check every single one, but only around 20% of those I checked is married. A lot of unmarried have children and no dead wife shows in the ruler tab.

I have all the expansions, only this mod installed via Steam.

Do you mean at the very start of the game? If so, that's normal. The history files often don't start rulers off with wives, even if they do have children.

Can you be more explicit? There are a LOT of errors in the millenium bookmark's history changes, so if you can tell me what the history for these characters should actually be, I'll just go and change them. If not, I guess I'll research it when I get time.

I've just gone through it again and taken some screenshots. Since I can only add five here, I'll upload the rest in separate posts whenver I can:

ck2_1.jpgck2_2.jpgck2_10.jpgck2_11.jpgck2_12.jpg

Basically, for some characters there are two versions - the vanilla version with a 6-digit character ID, and a mod-created character with a 10-digit character ID. it doesn't just happen in the Millenium bookmark. I've seen the exact same thing occur in, for example, the "The Alexiad" bookmark, and Basil I has two sons named Constantine and two daughters named Anastasia in the TOG bookmark as well.

I also didn't notice it before, but when I click on any bookmark from "The Ilkhanate Converts" (1295) to "The Hundred Years War" (1337) leads to a CTD.

Sorry I took so long to respond.

That is correct: my vassal, not my dynasty, count, target title is a county non-de jure.

Honestly, the only time when a vassal I press a claim for should go independent is when the title they get at the end is the same level as my title. Otherwise, I see no reason for them going off independent after gaining a freaking county. Or even a King level title if I am Emperor -.-!

This is actually how it works in vanilla, as well. If the person you're pressing a county claim for is a duke or a king, it wouldn't be an issue...but since the title is the same tier or lower as what they already possess, and you're neither their de jure liege nor of their dynasty, they assume a title that is already independent.

I suppose we could make it so that the assumed title must be higher tier in order for them to become independent...but that's a separate consideration entirely, and more of a suggestion than an actual bug (considering the tooltip correctly tells you when they'll go independent).

Well, they're all characters that were added into the history by the Millenium sub-mod ...so, yes, they'd appear everywhere, no matter the bookmark.

I found five characters total: Anastasia and Konstantinos for Basil I, and Christophoros, Stephanos and Konstantinos for Romanos. Having the extra characters didn't really affect anything, as none of those characters went on to do anything particularly special, but they've been removed. Let me know if you see any others.
