The game crashes on the initial loading screen under the "processing flags" section

I would suggest reinstalling. That suggests something's wrong on your end.

I feel like there's still a mystery CTD or 2 kicking around in CK2+ somewhere. Is it possible to organize a forum-wide bug-hunt, as was done a little while ago that turned up the "Show Bravery in Battle" ambition to be a problem? Just methodically have lots of people play slightly different versions of the mod over long periods of time, and see who crashes and who doesn't?

I have no idea if this is feasible really, just curious.

I have no idea if this is feasible really, just curious.

Considered it. The save Blood Ragu uploaded previously is a good candidate, as it crashes within the year about 75% of the time.

Mostly it's a matter of time. Putting together those many different versions of the mod is not a small undertaking, and requires one to be methodical in their approach--if the versions are done incorrectly, you've likely introduced a crash bug which will skew the results. I'll probably get to it in time, but I'd also like to not be the only person undertaking such efforts.

I noticed in my game that even though we've had an anti-pope for 50+ years Catholicism hasn't lost any MA from it, the breakdown window just shows "Antipope: 0%".

Error report attached, though I'm not sure it helps much. Happens across several characters and religions. With Steam, only modification made concerns de jure assimilation (changed to allow only capital and adjacents, rather than anywhere).

Random crash bugs aren't something we can do much about at present. If the crash doesn't repeat reliably, at this point all we can say is, "Yep, there sure is a crash bug somewhere."

That said, we've got a couple of reports on repeatable crashes which we'll have to try and investigate.

Yep, I've been looking at that one tonight.

The crash appears to be related to an event chain in the faction meetings event file -- it appears that, under some conditions, the AI can end up in a loop between two events that ends in a CTD. Which is great that it's found, so thanks for uploading that. I'll be working on a fix, and we'll likely put the next update up early...just in case that's the persistent crash that's been plaguing everyone (which it might not be -- your crash is really consistent, though it might be that, under other conditions, the AI occasionally breaks out of the loop). But we'll see.

Also Rylock I'm not entirely sure what the triggers are to dissolve the Karling empire is ( its changed alot the last few versions) but in the save I provided with the faction event CTD you'll notice that the CE is ran by a non-karling and the entire empire is still intact( West Francia did briefly broke away but somehow went back in). If its meant to break when a non Karling takes over thats another bug I noticed if that isn't a trigger then disreguard this report.

Also Rylock I'm not entirely sure what the triggers are to dissolve the Karling empire is ( its changed alot the last few versions) but in the save I provided with the faction event CTD you'll notice that the CE is ran by a non-karling and the entire empire is still intact( West Francia did briefly broke away but somehow went back in). If its meant to break when a non Karling takes over thats another bug I noticed if that isn't a trigger then disreguard this report.

The Carolingian Empire does not automatically dissolve if a non-Karling takes the throne--but the chance of vassals declaring independence does jump up dramatically.

I'm curious what you mean by "briefly broke away", however. Did it become independent and then immediately become vassalized again? If so, that's a bug...but I'd need more info, if you can provide it.

Wasn't keeping a close eye on that part of the map ( to busy taking land without Rurik or Dyne tearing me apart) But I did notice West Francia became independant for a good couple years then looked back and it was back in the CE. And it was indepedant during that time it wasn't at war with the CE during its brief stint independant.

Edit: K think I pieced together what happend. Thinking Welf got the CE thru the election then WF split ( somehow not sure) Then WF got claimed by Welf and fell back into the empire so this I do not believe is a bug ( unless WF leaving was ).

West Francia leaving is not a bug, no. Doing so gives a claim to the Carolingian emperor...so if they warred to get West Francia back, and won, then it's perfectly legit.

Playing from 'The Anarchy' bookmark as either of the two important characters (King Stephen I of England or the other guy) - the war ends as soon as you press play (so I guess it doesn't really matter whom you play as). My guess is because the war is to press Matilda's claim on the Kingdom of England. As it's only a weak claim, I guess it isn't allowed to be pressed (as Stephen isn't incapable, a woman, or a child). Perhaps if Matilda had a strong claim instead, it would work...

Currently playing a Denmark game as Head of the reformed Norse Faith. Every time i declare a Holy War every one around me gets hostile. There is no war between us, but they can siege my holdings and attack my armies.
I need to completly restart my game to fix that.

Edit: Now this happnes rather randomly, wothout me declaring any war...

Previous questions still apply: Which version are you playing? Do you have the correct checksum? Have you altered anything? Depending on these questions, uploading the save would be helpful and we could take a look.
