There's not enough information here for us to know where your problem is coming from. It could be a problem with vanilla, it could be us, it could be a game event or mechanic that you hadn't paid enough attention to or don't know about, for whatever reason. Hard to say given what you've told us.
It didn't happen in vanilla (as I had played couple of sessions in vanilla with M&M). Somehow person is assasinated by unknown plotters. She doesn't "vanish without trace", description informs about assasination. There was no information about plot, however.
Hello, I'm sorry if it's the wrong thread but I would like to say that I suffer from a CTD when loading events or flags (it depends, usually it happens in events) with the last version of HIP.
Could somebody help me fix this?
EDIT: Now I don't even get past the first loading screen (the paradox vitraux)
I got Monks and Mystics yesterday and I was really excited to try it out with the new HIP mod. Loaded up at 867, and everything is going along swimmingly until Feb 4, 888.
For some reason, my game keeps crashing without warning (not even a "not responding" window) and exits out to my desktop. I have never had this problem before.
I did a clean re-install of HIP to no avail. I don't think its a problem with my laptop because it's a brand new gaming laptop...
I've attached the version.txt as well as the autosaved game from Jan 1, 888. I don't use any other mod, have almost all the DLCs. I was also playing offline, if that had to do with anything. I did retry the game when I was online again once, but the same crash happened.
At the beginning, I did use the ruler designer to make my guy ridiculously OP (I was Asturias) if that has any sort of impact...
Please help! I love the game and really appreciate all the work you developers do for this mod. Thanks!

Make sure you're running the latest version of CK2 (and not an open beta of any kind), verify the integrity of your game files through Steam, and if all else fails, try reinstalling HIP or even the game, although your version.txt -- so long as that's the complete file -- suggests that at least the install was done correctly.

I am running the latest version of CK2, and nothing was out of the ordinary when I verified integrity. I will install it again, but before: Is there any other possible way to solve this?

No, I definitely cannot reproduce your problem, and that combination of mods seems to be working without issue for a large amount of people, so I don't have any 'quick solutions.'
I misunderstood what you were asking. Go to HIP's .mod file and delete the line containing user_dir, which should now tell HIP not to put files in its own directory. Hope this helps.
Just note that if you do this, you will likely experience problems with the game's cache files (HIP and vanilla aren't compatible, obviously) unless you only 100% play HIP.
The launcher's Continue button is too dumb to know about non-vanilla saves: it's annoying, but the in-game Continue button knows where to find them just fine.
Thanks guys and thanks for the heads up about the cache kink. I made a copy of the vanilla cache to roll back to, and I'll be careful when I decide to not use HIP.
So the game launches fine and I select my character, but when I click to play the loading bar fills and the game shuts down suddenly. When setting up I said yes to everything except the English Localisation submod.

We need the contents of your version.txt file to even start. We're not kidding about that. We'll also need a verified CK2 version number, whether you own M&M, the character(s) you've tried to load into the game as, etc. If we can't reproduce your problem, then we can't do anything about it.

At this point (not that it would help that much in theory but we seem to be grasping at straws here), completely delete the CK2 folder in the Paradox Interactive folder in your Documents.
And 2 suggestions that might not be bugs but would make sense implementing if possible:
- enabling making alliance with friends
- excluding concubines from Arrange Marriages decision, currently concubines will get auto married to viable men making it pretty annoying to use for pagans

I figured that might be the case for the first one, but the decision to arrange courtier marriages is (I think) HIP content and excluding concubines should be possible, right? It's ok for me to want to marry off one of my concubines but that shouldn't happend when using the option for mass marriages.

The decision to arrange courtier marriages is not enabled for the AI, so unless you're the one doing it... I can look into its [very old PB] code and see about excluding concubines so that you can use the decision without screwing-up your court concubinage.
The Khan thing... we'd also seen that on rare occasion when HL came out, but otherwise I've no f'ing clue about the issue, as then. We'll see if a bit more trend develops there.
