I see the problem; it most likely relates to an improper CPRplus install. You are installing with CPRplus, yes?

That file is not a CPRplus file; it probably comes from ARKO interface. The file defines elements in the province panel (holding icons and such), so you should definitely not touch that file.I think I found the issue. In the HIP/interface folder, there is a file named africangfx.gfx, but it should be named portraits_african.gfx. The faces are distorted, because the game overlaps the vanilla East African faces with the CPRplus ones. Renaming the file corrects some issue, the ears, beards and hair are still totally off.

With that said, I'm not able to reproduce your issue on my end. Could you double check if you have both the West African and East African Portrait DLCs enabled?
Hey! So I'm working on a really fun HIP AAR project, but now I'm getting repeated CTD's happening within 2-3 weeks of loading a saved game. I'm not sure, but I think it may have something to do with faction demands. My error.log is attached, but I can also provide a save file if needed.
Any help is appreciated!
You're going to need to provide a little more help than that.
We'll need to see the contents of your version.txt file, for instance, to even know what version of the mod you're running. Did you start it on that version, or have you been updating? What version of CK2 are you running on? Are you using any additional mods? "It crashes" doesn't really give us much to go on, even with an error log (which rarely has anything of use in it, to be honest).
No additional mods being used -- game was begun on this version, and has not updated since.
Ah, I didn't realize you were talking about a version which was THAT old.
I can't foresee us being able to help with that, to be honest. My only advice would be to either back up to your olderautosave or to temporarily remove the faction event files in order to get past your crash point, and then restore them...but we're likely talking about a bug which has long since been fixed (or which isn't even on our end, assuming it could be found).
What @Rylock said, of course, buuut... I'm still curious: what makes you think it's related to faction demand stuff? Could you describe in detail from where this hunch comes?Ah, my bad. Let me fill in the rest, then.
Game is running CKII v. 2.5.2.2 with the following info from HIP's version.txt:

Glad to hear about the clean backup save. Keep up that AAR, but don't forget to join us on 2.6 when you can.I can't entirely prove it, but the issue seemed to happen when I was approached to support another Council member in exchange for a favor. Within a month or two after that happens, I get a crash-to-desktop, and from my one save, it would always happen about 15-20 days after startup. When I went to another savefile about a year prior and continued, I've been able to keep playing unhindered. I realize it's less than scientific, but I'm wondering if some ultimatum against the Queen caused it. However, I tried reloading as said Queen and didn't see anything pop up, so I'm mostly basing my theory on the fact that the unique event that seemed to trigger the instability was me receiving a Council appointment and supporting another member, whereas in another game where that didn't happen, things have gone smoothly.
That said, thankfully I save a lot due to the game being for an AAR, so I had a date a year back that has given me a clean game since.

Insofar as the hunch, what you're describing are Conclave council mechanics and law-passing, which are very different from factions, FWIW.
This castle has a negative amount of defenders and when i assault nobody takes any damage or makes any progress.
Version:

ARKO Armoiries (2016-09-25)

WARNING: Some installed files do not match their released version.
Not sure if this is a bug or not, but I am unable to convert tribes into castles. Have the requirements changed? The tribe in question is top holding, and the province has my religion and has a Stone Hillfort
There is a bug with the Bulgarian titles, they are the vanilla ones emperor, duke, count. Only the king title is tsar.
