Every time I start a game with 2.2 and MegaCorp installed, every day after day one I get dozens of empty, pictureless alert boxes with "OK" as the only response. I've tried playing with different empires to see if it's a specific trait/ethic/etc that's causing it, but so far all of them are suffering from the same issue. I don't have any mods activated either.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? Have you found anything that's solved it? Because as of right now I can't play the new update thanks to the endless boxes covering the centre of the screen.

I've seen this happen with mods that have mismatched brackets or other minute issues like that. Try verifying your game files; if that doesn't fix it I'm sure a hotfix is on its way.
I've tried Steam's verification and it claims it's all valid. I did have a few mods installed when I first opened the game, but after the bug I disabled them and made sure the empires I was testing weren't invalid due to using any mod content. They were just namelists, too - I can't imagine they'd keep the game malfunctioning even once disabled.

I had this problem as well. Verified Steam and when I loaded up the game all my empires I created were invalid because of DLC. One was a megacorp I just created earlier. I have no mods installed either.
