Orthodox colonists bonus and innovativeness

If this isn't a bug, it's an undocumented feature of the Orthodox religion. Orthodox nations only receive their extra 0.5 colonists/year if their Innovativeness DP slider is set to 3 or less.

Strange indeed. It could be simply undocumented, but I will log it as a bug. If SM or VKV know better, they will change the status :)

Bug #176: Orthodox nations only receive their extra 0.5 colonists/year if their Innovativeness DP slider is set to 3 or less.

Nah. Not bug.

Orthodox don't get .5 Missionary per year like Catholic. Then the DP setting to Narrowminded gets you the missionary.

Now in 1.04... ;)

I'm not talking about missionaries. I'm talking about colonists. If you do the mouseover on the colonists at the top of the screen, you don't see the Orthodox +0.50 bonus unless your innovativeness is at 3 or less.

Maybe you had 0 colonists from all modifiers before?

For those of you who keep doubting me, play an Orthodox nation. Highlight the colonists icon on the top of the screen. If your Innovativeness DP slider is 3 or less, you will see "+0.5 Orthodox" on the list of modifiers giving you colonists. If your DP slider is 4 or more, that bonus disappears.

OK, I missread. Not missionaries, but colonists.

It sounds like the rollover is strange. I'll look into it.

OK, Bug 108 created.

The problem is a little more than what was reported. In the rollover, the religion bonus is not mentioned for any religion when DP slider settings net to a negative adjustment to # of colonists. It is even more than that, but I didn't bother to figure it out exactly. The size of the religion bonus affects how large of a negative adjustment is required before the bug occurs.

Note, no problems with merchants, diplomats and missionaries.

Your welcome. It's the beta testers job to try to find the larger problem from initially observed results. Helps Johan a lot.

Besides, 1.04 will probably have changes to the bonus for each religion.

Uh, just played Novgorod. Rollover text was correct, as the number of colonists i got. 1.02 patch.

It was correct when i had +0.4 from mercantilism, +0.5 from orthodox, +1.0 from frontier.

Then, when i lost frontier bonus, it showed only colonists from mercantilist, without orthodox bonus, though i actually got colonists from orthodox (i was gaining about one per year, not per two, as rollover would show)

When i moved one step toward narrowminded, to 4, it again showed (rollover) everything correctly.

Bit confusing?:D

hmm. it was already bug #176 as mentionned before ;) :D

Delete your bug and I will simply update mine. If you have reported it in bugzilla already, give me the bug number :)
