I have a custom empire with the Scion orgin, I've had them spawn in a few matches now and they haven't been tied to the FE in anyway. Just curious if this orgin is only is active when I play as them, or if this is just a bug. I was hoping it would work with a NPC empire.

i know the AI tends to have issues with the Doomsday Origin

but i've never heard of anything pertaining to the Scion Origin

in all honesty, why would you purposefully want to have an AI in the game that you can't viably attack until mid or late game [depending on your tech/fleet]

The game only let's one ai empire in a game with certain origins at a time. Have you checked the other empires in the game see if they have it.

It has since worked, just wasn't very clear on them being a scion when they've spawned.

And not completely true, most of my Mass Effect based empires have the galactic doorstep origin and I've had multiple of them spawn in game all with a portal.

odd, they shouldn't

the wiki lists Galactic Doorstep as unique

unless you are force spawning them in; in which case then you can kind of get away with it

[normally AI generated empires will default to following if an origin is unique and thus only one of it will spawn in if possible]

Oh okay. That makes sense.

I don't play with AI generated empires, I have 40+ custom ones all normally set to force spawn. One match I had 4 of my doomsday empires spawn and in the course of like 2 years all those planets went boom it was hilarious.

My Doomsday empires are The Gek, Vy'keen, Korvax those three based of the races from No Man's Sky, they all lost their homeworlds, and the Falmer from Elder Scrolls who also lost their home territory and were completely decimated.
