In my new german campaign i saved after setting up for Unternehmen Barbarossa.
I delayed it to June cause the massive mud in northern russia.

After i load the game there is no more mud shown. I start the attack and at some fronts my tankdivisions stuck with 1km/h in some provinces in the north when in the south the rolled already over Kiev.

I look then in the provinces an there is the Mud icon but it is not shown at the map.

So i don't know which provinces i should avoid when i not clicking on every single one of them and look at the terrain modifiers.

With this is it not possible to manage a offensive in such a large scale when u have to click on every single province.

Looks like paradox have massive problems with savegames.
In previous versions researchbonuses get lost when u load. This is fixed now i think. But jet such things like mud disappear.
Please fix this asap. It is stupd to build in such massives modifiers and then u cant see them on the map.

If only the simple terrain map is actually usable

Whaaaaaaat. I might have known about this at some point, but if I did I had totally forgotten about it, in that case. This should've been visible in the political mapmode as well as the terrain mapmode. Thanks a lot!

What is the "advantage" to play on the political map? I always play on terrain-map; it "helps" me attacking, defending and deploying; that's what I normally do 90% in the game-time...
Answering only for myself, I can usually tell what terrain the various provinces are anyway, and I don't really like the HoI4 terrain map.

I remember using the simple terrain map a lot in HoI3, but in HoI4 I find it jarring. I don't agree with the colour scheme they've chosen, and the terrain colours fade out if I'm not zoomed in really close anyway, and the country/coastline boundaries are really thick, so they get in the way a lot, particularly along coastlines and on islands.

I look then in the provinces an there is the Mud icon but it is not shown at the map.

Your picture shows mud as a "brown" underground". Mud is also displayed on a "blue-green underground" with small blue "waves" on it. Depends on "weather and/or season".
