Miracle Worker Offers to Heal Me

There are three choices. One is pay the healer for help, the other is to beg the healer for help, and the third is to trust God to heal the sickness. In the second, you lose prestige, and you only have a fair chance of your sickness getting better. In the third, you gain piety, you have a fair chance of your sickness getting better, but you have a fair chance of your sickness getting worse. But in the first option, you GAIN 10 gold, and you have a high chance of your sickness getting cured. Aren't you supposed to lose gold?

Well, the thing is that when you pay him, your character gains ten gold, not loses it. I checked, many times. My family seems to be especially prone to illness and stress.

Yep, I noticed this too in my games. I checked the Illness Events text and choice "a" in all the miracle worker type events and sure enuf they mistakenly add gold, not subtract. Easily fixable, just add a "-" sign!

Option C in the miracle worker event (Trust in God) has non-obvious results as well. Tool tips say that there is a 50% chance of being cured and 50% chance of developing pneumonia. Since the pneumonia check is done after and independent of the cure check, you in fact have a 25% chance of cure, 50% chance of developing pneumonia and 25% chance of no change. (Had a son in last night's session have both cure and pneumonia fire on the same event, as indicated in the history log.) To get roughly equal chances of cure, no effect, or pneumonia, chance on the first effect (cure) should be 50% and the second effect (pneumonia) should be 33%.
