I have a vassal duke who had two rebel counts allied against him. The thing is, he has controlled their demesnes for over five years and they have yet to make peace. It's most annoying. I even tried declaring war on the counts myself, but they won't even make a white peace and there's no way to improve my warscore since they have no troops or provinces to attack. Actually, technically they do have troops but they can't muster them because the provinces are controlled. As near as I can tell, the only way for me to end this war (aside from the Byzantine cheat) is to declare war on the Duke and wipe him out, but that's going to give me all kinds of badboy and I still will have thee renegade counts. I thought about making them my vassals and declaring war on the duke and forcing him to accept a white peace, but they're outside my Kingdom areas and won't accept vassalization either. Any ideas? Normally, when the A.I. loses all its demesne, it automatically offers everything within a week.

If you've got the time, save the game, reload as the duke in question, and use the byzantine cheat to declare a peace with the counts whose demesne he holds. I recommend that you do it with the byz cheat on so that the counts will hopefully immediately accept the offer, and you won't have to unpause the game, giving the AI controlling your real realm time to do something horribly, horribly inane. If all goes well, save again, exit, and reload as your original realm. This works as long as the problem vassal is playable.
