Just bought the new expansion, and as soon as I start my game, I get a set of infinite empty dialogue boxes. I've looked around, seeing some others have run into this:

I've tried validating my steam cache, but that didn't fix it. The only reproduction steps I have is just... install the game. I'm not using any mods, just bought the expansion and this happened.
Would really like a fix, the game is unplayable as is since the boxes pause your game and obstruct your view.
