German allies send all of their planes to lithuania

they always do this. its really stupid. Right now i have a stack of Italian naval bombers up next to lithuania. When I got brazil into the axis they went and sent all of their planes up to the same place!! I see this happen all the time in several games.


Whats the deal? Is Lithuania hosting an axis airshow?

Had the same thing while playing Russia. Japan was allied and most of its airforce was staging airshows near Moscow....

Playing Germany, 1.03b, 1936 scenario, NA version.

Shortly after (finally) getting Italy to join the alliance, the Italian Air Force flew to Lithuania. They haven't budged since getting there (no support at all versus the USSR), although they have invited the Luftwaffe over to their hotel for Espresso...

Try Playing Finland. Once the Winter War starts, join the AXIS and watch their entire aircraft strength crowd into helsinki. And guess what, they do absolutely squat to help you, because until the Axis actually DOWs the USSR, thousands of ME109 will just sit on the apron and watch the artillery duels. Makes me want to cancel their vodka rations

Italy does this in every single game I play as Germany. The others are harder to determine, as unsually only Italy produces bombers out of the allies I get into the Axis.

Another (maybe related) phenomenan is that periodicly these bombers start rebasing up and down the border of the USSR, finally resettling once again in the Lithuanian corner.

Yes, they do. Hungarian, Italian, Romanian and Bulgarian Air units are currently in my Memel-Province....

Dont forget the Japs. Playing SU on 1.03b. As i hold the Germans, Japan joins the axis. I had planned for it and my far east front rapidly crushes them into oblivion. Easy, since their entire bloody airforce is sitting somewhere in east prussia

I dont know if this could help as an explanation , but it seems that airforces head "to the north"...

In a similar fashion I saw this: ... Germany was at war with Poland then dowed Rumania... Immediately the rumanian air force flew to the northeasternmost province in Poland.

In addition to the things described above i've played as Germany and installed Tito in slovakia

I asume military control of slovakia and beginn moving their forces to the russian border. I try moving the slovakian fighters as well and no matter where i send them they return to the same spot i slovakia time and time again. I can rebase both hungarian, rumanian and Austrian(they went independent axis) fighters with no problems but not the slovakian.

Any explenation?

Ghost, its the old "local initiative" feature/bug/insanity. Even if u take military control, some units still think on their own. Hope that gets removed in 1.04.

As you might have read in GD, 1.04 has already been sent to publishers, so I doubt this bug will be fixed in 1.04
