Hello,

I've been playing HOI II for a while its a good game but still needs working on...

Firstly after conquering France and Poland-and despite having garrisson divisions in Poland (but not in every province, as they were still being built)-a Polish army of 27 infantry divisions, and 3 cavalry divisions, appeared as if by magic!

This is just nuts!

Poland has been conqurerd, do you think the Germans would miss 30 regular divisions assembling in front of them?

Therefore this should be removed as a game feature IMHO, as an army of 30 regular divisions would be impossible to assemble in an occupied, conquered, territory...

I can understand partisans appearing, but not 30 divisions of regulars...

Secondly in another game as the Axis I had gone for the middle east option, only to find north africa (Casablanca) invaded by 30 American divisions, remembering D-Day the allies could ony get 9 ashore, 6 Infantry and 3 Paratroop

So should there not be a limit on the size of invading forces to stop these ridiculously high numbers of troops landing in one go?

Also if I invade Russia, should I not get the option (admittedly unlikely) of a kinder occupation policy?

Or later on in the war that of 'Operation Skorpion' using Vlasovs white Russians, against communist Russians, as were are the 'Hiwi's, and Cossacks and sundry other nationalities, that joined the Germans in Russia in the game?

Finally a pet hate-I note that if I prioritise units-and then move them via a strategic re-deployment-I then have to prioritise them all over again, can this please be sorted so that they remain prioritised!

That aside its a good game....

Cheers

Stuart

I have never, ever seen this. is it event-driven, or...what?

Secondly in another game as the Axis I had gone for the middle east option, only to find north africa (Casablanca) invaded by 30 American divisions, remembering D-Day the allies could ony get 9 ashore, 6 Infantry and 3 Paratroop

remember the size of the provinces--any landing is more than simply assaulting the beach, it is the fighting beyond it to conquer the area of the province as well. while I do agree that there should be some sort of limit, I think the main weakness is now amphibious landings are represented in HoI2.

Also if I invade Russia, should I not get the option (admittedly unlikely) of a kinder occupation policy?

Or later on in the war that of 'Operation Skorpion' using Vlasovs white Russians, against communist Russians, as were are the 'Hiwi's, and Cossacks and sundry other nationalities, that joined the Germans in Russia in the game?
well, you do get some bits of the manpower that are in those territories (more with certain ministers), and you do later get Vlassov as a leader ('43, iirc) soo...
personally, I think it is actually the more oppressive policy that is under-represented and, while I do feel a rather mild sense of constrainment, it is easy to understand and I certainly wouldn't argue against it. but, as it is now, if you conquer the Ukraine they give you just as much (percentage-wise) of their resources as the Danes do, or the French.

Finally a pet hate-I note that if I prioritise units-and then move them via a strategic re-deployment-I then have to prioritise them all over again, can this please be sorted so that they remain prioritised!
this I agree with. and on that note, its the same with the ctrl groups--if you strategically redeploy them, they leave the group they're in, which is kind of sucky.

Afternoon,

Another bug fix-Republican Spain-I have lost count of the number of times they win the Spanish civil war!

also why in the spanish civil war do Spains north african provinces automatically default to Republ;ican control-as they were controlled by the nationalists, which is where Frano flew alot of troops in from....

Which leads me to my next question

Air transport if Franco used it to move troops around-why in the game-can only paratroops use them?

Cheers
