i thought immigration was set up only from europe/asia to america. is it because the US is naturally an american nation that they get immigration irregardless of what province it is?

seems so, as Britian I got tons of immegration to Canada, but with US I got it in all my provinces. Something that I think needs to be fixed...
With Brazil, I've got some to the arabic peninsulae. Not much, 1 spanish & 1 German Pop to Ras Something.
So immigration is based on where a nations Capital is? That's kind of wierd.

I've played the USA in two GCs, and best I can figure out is that the USA is hardcoded to get strong immigration throughout the game. The reason Okinawa is the place to be is that it is the geographically closest place which is considered US territory to the emigrating nationalities. Buy Bermuda from the Brits and the same thing happens--I had 30+ farmers in the British (well, American) West Indies. They just come pouring in.
Immigration does slow down in the later game. I believe that two factors play a major role 1) conflicts in the Old World--more wars, more immigration, and 2) social/political changes in the the original countries (they reduce emigration to US).

I had 1.148 million residents on Midway in 1905 as the American player (1861 scenario). If you've seen that island you'd know you couldn't even put that many bodies on the ground. It seems as my most western territory all the Asian emigrants went there. Obviously, these should be distributed on the West Coast and Hawaii (with maybe 3,000 max. living on Midway).
