Short version:
Highways are fine. Harbors make the game crash. So did train station.
trainstationsairport+harbor+civilian train station = barely 5 minutes of play before a see through crash to desktop happens.

The full length version:
I noticed something when I built my town. It crashed every time I built a Harbor for industrial stuff. But it was not a complete crash, it just went to the desktop and the game was still in the taskbar but when I clicked it, nothing happened. There was a cursor on the screen as if the game was on but my desktop was showing.
I eventually pressed ALt+enter to see if I could minimize and maximize the screen and fix it, all it did was making a smaller see-through window get stuck in the middle of my two monitors. And this is why there is no crash log, because as far as I can hear, the game is still going on, I just can't do/see anything.

It happened every time I tried to build the harbor and tried it at least five times. Sometimes it took as long as 3 minutes for it to happen. I avoided building a harbor for this reason, even though my town needed it. Later I got access to a railroad and I built a railroad station and a few minutes later the game crashed.

I did it again but this time I saved. Now 10 minutes went by without any crashes, so I saved yet again and built a harbor. Nothing happened, so I saved. But 20 minutes later it crashed. No big deal I thought, if it happens once and hour or every 20 minutes, but I can make a better town, so be it.

Now it's getting a tad ridiculous however. I have an airport and the game crashes more often than once every hour. I barely noticed it so I built a civilian train station and now it crashes almost every 5 minutes.

I do not know it its a memory thing but one would have thought that it would have crashed at least once in a proper way then. Can I somehow force error logs? Or send a "everything that ever happened"-log?

I am quite frankly getting sick of this, I can deal with a crash every now and then but it got fun building again and everytime I get absorbed into building it crashes. It does kind of seem as if saving makes the game go for a longer time without crashing.

This crash is even more annoying since my current monitor reacts REALLy badly to resolution changes, it shuts down and I must turn the monitor off and wait for a while. If that was not a thing that happened I am not sure that I would care. But since my monitor is a piece of garbage it makes the whole experience infuriating.
