Disappearing Tactical Bombers

Playing with 1.03. After nuturing a Group of 12 A20 Tac Bombers with a high experienced Air General through months of battle in the South of France I send them off on a mission. Daylight, good weather.

While watching it they bomb 3 week low org. ground units, another German bomb groups come into the province and my _ENTIRE_ group disappearers from the map.

I suspected this was happened in the game from past events like this, but now I have actually seen it.

This is a Game Killer and really Sucks.

Me too

I actually lost my whole Airforce.
Some of the units showed up in the pool.
Unfortunately none were TAC Bombers. It's a wild random occurrance. Have to experience it more to find out what happened. Perhaps the Tac Bombers were destroyed by Units AA, land AA and Interceptors.

Keep an eye on this problem.

I think this is what's happening. Not a bug.

Please !

It`s a huge Bug , or if you prefer a " Random Occurance ".

I attacked with a full strength 12 unit Tac Bomber fleet all at 45 Org. led by a 20 experience Carpet Bomber leader. It was a clear day.

There were only 2 low Org German ground units in the hex, and I doubt there would be AA in a Southern French province on the Med.

They disappeared after 6 German Bombers entered the hex.

They are not in the pool.

They are gone.

I had my planes (as germany) jump into the forcepool during a raid. I was bombing a province in norway, when japan made an annexation (of nat.china I think). That's what caused it for me. Maybe germany annexed some country while you were bombing that province? If you remeber when abouts it was, you could check the history tab perhaps?

Need a save of JUST before the second army enters the province.

You _know_ there is no way to get a save like that from an actual non testing game in progress, and probably not from a test game set up to de-bug the AI Air Routines either....But, with several people reporting this perhaps a Betazoid could look for it.

It really blows, especially as the US where you either ferry the Tac Bombers over unit by unit by Carriers or Coup Portugal in 1941, and waste lots of Diplo. points to get military access and ferry them through the Azores.

Anyway, it`s a bug, and a major one, and IMO should be on the list.

I've had tac bombers disappear after loading them on to carriers. Had a group of 6, broke them into 3 groups of 2 then loaded them onto 4 carriers. Only 2 groups (4 tac bombers) made it to the carriers, the other 2 flew into the 'Great Barrier Reef Triangle'.

You'd be surprised... :D A save is most useful for Paradox when resolving bugs. It saves the time of trying to reproduce it.
