Anomalies, present in multiplayer but not single player
Hi,
Just got back from a LAN party with a friend, where both of us have been playing multi player for the first time. All in all it was a success, but I have noticed some weird stuff that never happened in single player, and I want to list those. For now, I put them in a single thread, so I have to explain the circumstances only once.
First, the hardware.
My system runs on an AMD XP1600+, 512 MB DDR266, GeForce 4 Ti4200, SB Audigy II, Realtek 8139 LAN, VIA KT266A chipset.
My friends system is a AMD XP2200+, 512 MB DDR333, GeForce 4 Ti4200, AC97 on-board sound, on-board LAN, VIA KT400 chipset.
Both of us are running Koch Media HoI, version 1.03b unmodified.
He was hosting the game and playing Japan, I was joining the game, as Germany.
Now for the problems.
In December 1936, Poland voted right in the elections, making it a Paternal Autocrat, and thus a target for attack
. I went in with my army. Here two anomalies happened.
1) None of my commanders gained ANY experience at all in the course of three weeks of winter combat. In single player, under similar conditions, ALL my commanders gain experience, even skill 5 Rommel gains a few points. In the Japanese campaign against China, 6 months later, my friend's commanders ALL gained experience.
2) The weather overlay on my system failed to show any weather info. It just showed the map as a normal map. All other overlays did work as supposed. That there was indeed rain and show over Poland at the time was proven on my friend's system. His weather overlay showed all those clouds over Poland, which were not visible on my system at the time. After I annexed Poland, all of a sudden the weather overlay started working on my system.
3) The Anschluss of Austria. After this event, there were literary dozens of empty army corps present in 3 separate Austrian provinces. All were designated as 5th corps, and all were displayed as a level I panzer. These disapeared after a quit/reload of the game.
4) The same happened with the Treaty of Munich, where the Czech hand over 5 provinces. In each of those, several dozen Czech army corpses remained, all empty and all waiving the white retreat flag, but without them moving. These too, disapeared after a quit/reload.
