Game freezes when making white peace

On some occasions, when I have made a white peace in a war, the game immediately freezes after displaying the "peace accepted" dialog-box.

Common things (AFAIK) for the different times this has happened:

• It's a war I haven't started.
• Others were involved in the war as my allies.
• The peace resolution was on my initiative.
• White peace.
• War score of 0.

Version: PAN 1.01
CPU: 3 GHz
RAM: 1 GB
OS: Win XP Home

I've noticed this too. Also, note that it FREEZES, not CTD. could be significant, i guess.

Been seeing a bit more of this with some variations compared to my original post and would therefore like to add.

- Never happens in colonial wars
- Never happens if the war was started by me
- Can happen when offering something in a peace deal (not just white peace)
- Can happen even if I am alone at war (no allies)

Sometimes it freezes the game, but lets me Alt-Tab or Ctrl-Alt-Del out of it. Other times it freezes the 'puter completely, and I have to reboot.

Any thoughts on this anyone?

Happened to me as well. But I´ve experienced it during non-white peaces as well. I recommend that you hit Pause and make peace as that seems to aleviate the problem for me.

I always pause when I'm doing stuff, so that's not it

This is starting to become somewhat of a game breaker for me

What's the use in beating France as Belgium if I can't get them to give me all their nice colonies in Africa. They want to, but as soon as they have accepted my offer and I unpause the game to continue, the whole game freezes and I have to reboot.

Instead I have to accept their lame peace deals that offer lots of provinces to my ally Great Britain and none to me. Hardly seems worth the time and effort to go to war if you're left with breadcrumbs after hours of gameplay

Officially a bug, I see

I've tested some more around this; seems that it happens when I am in political mapmode, pause, click an enemy, click diplo-button (enter diplomode), click "sue for peace", set up a peace-deal, submit it and get it accepted.

OK, here is the difference; if I remain in diplo mapmode, the game freezes when I unpause. If I switch to political mapmode before unpausing, no freeze occurs.

No longer a gamebreaker, but hellishly annoying nonetheless

Demanding States From Switzerland == Lockup

Playing as Germany, I occupy all of Switzerland. I don't have the right to Annex (even though I have all 9 of their states occupied), so I'll demand everything (except Bern, which isn't allowed since it is the capital). Switzerland agrees, and the game locks.

Is this a known issue?

I have a current save right as the invasion is going full force. 2 minutes work for it to be all occupied and tested if the save is wanted.

Oh, I've had that one often. I noticed that the main problem seemed to be the Diplo screen.

I kept hammering F3 to get out of the Diplo screen after sending the offer, and it seems to be working.
