Has anyone ever had this problem before? I am currently facing it right now. I was able to log on to a friend's game for the first time playing and now I can't access his game. I've hosted my own game but he hasn't logged on. The "problem" said that it was incorrect versions.

Does anyone know how to fix this BTOF - DTOF? I have all the DLCs except Charlemagne and Way of Life. He only has Crusader Kings 2, Ruler Designer, and Customization pack with Military Orders. I'm assuming he has to buy up all the DLCs to get the game working? Or would he have to update his game himself?

I've done Quick Search to see if anything pops up with BTOF - DTOF MP incompatibility errors; none showed up. That's why I'm posting it on here.

EDIT: I suggested to him to restart. Turns out his checksum morphed into ETOF! Wow...

It is normal for the checksum to increment by one every time to resign, or drop out of an MP game.

The idea is to force MP players to restart the whole game, which resets any bad connections and aids MP stability. When he runs up the game from teh start he has BTOF, right?

You do NOT have to have the same DLCs to play MP. The game uses the host's DLCs.
