El....I could have just gone on without stopping at all...he is enough of a vet to know things can happen and he could have preloaded use EM. I don't HAVE to stop at all...And what if he wanted to EM the first one? We had no reason to assume that their would be raiders attacking vipers when there was nothing on the field and it normally takes at least 2 turns to have that happen, so you should have waited with the first hit just in case he wanted to play it on that one.
I have an XO to use one someone. Who could use it more? Also, should I move to repair something, or move to where I could be xo'd?

Just to further explain this. HAD Rand played EM on the 2nd roll, the 3rd of 5 still stands and there would still be up to 2 rolls left depending on what happens. EM on unmanned doesn't lower the next roll so it wouldn't change that result.

I know what he has and doesn't have and he cannot do that. yes that gives a little info on his hand, so does skipping SP play when no one has any. To avoid game issues bogging down it went this way.So he could play 2 EM on the first viper then, if he had them?

EL, the chance of destroying a 2 pop ship is 25% as well. We are probably better off having me shoot the raiders on the XO and then activating comms on my turn to arrange matters how we want it - with the empty ship right in the line of fire.
