Err, sorry, but should I have kept a preload along the lines of "if we hit a fuel-giving destination and risk it, SP on the roll"? Because I didn't think about it and hoped there would be some time to react.

Which raises a question, dear Admiral, why didn't you ask for a SP? I'm so scanning you. Oh, right, it's your turn next. *sigh*

Well, given that an SP is an auto pass on the roll, I might be willing to allow it to slide. This is one of those odd edge cases we hit in an online play, were I rather not wait for everyone to say No SP without having given a hint they might want to use one before hand, but they should have a chance to say as such. I might have done this turn a little too quick here in this case, but it really does help if people would give me some hints in PMs what they would like me to wait on if anything.

I am going to think about the issue with the SP over night, but I am going to say this.

I will happly take (and perfer over nothing) Fuzzy preloads on cards. For example, if you have an SP in hand, I gladdy take a request to wait on this such as.

Any roll save for any Cylon activations and Scouts.
Any roll that might be helpful to my side.

And So on.

As GM, I have a mix of wanting to see this game move somewhat smoothly and quickly and at the same time, not taken options away from people that would have existed if I do the proper wait on every die roll.

I would much rather have a bunch of Pms from each of you saying please wait on a roll that could effect my side by quite a bit, and have to pause to often then have this come up again. Without a hint of that in a PM, I just have to assume your holding it for something on your turn or for when another player asks for it.

But at the same time, I rather not way for every die roll if they are all going to turn into nothing from everyone. We don't need each game turn taking weeks after all.

Right. At first I've thought "oh, hell, it doesn't matter anyway, since SP is once per turn", that's why I've edited it away, then I've reread and it's once per roll. Ought to get more sleep.

P.S.: And yes, I realise it's my fault, sorry about raising this issue again. At least I'll try to be more thoughtful about this matter from now on.

The issue is not that it is an auto pass and would do it. The issue is, having an SP in hand and having seen the die roll was coming up before I rolled it. Would you have played the SP, or considered it not likely enough to fail to not bother.

Having heard nothing from people thinking to use one in a case like this, and Randy not asking for one. I treated this like a scout roll. It only hit me afterwards that I should not have done this, and I should have paused the game to do a proper ask even if it would slow it down.

I am sorry about shortcutting that, but I spent the night on it, and the only really fair thing to do is reroll the die and allow people the chance to play an SP on it or not.

It might pass without one, and will pass if someone plays one as a 3 is an auto pass.


So, I will reroll it And I do have a preload to play an SP on it.

gliomarto plays TAC-3 SP on the roll.

Roll is a 7+2=9. Pass. +2 Fuel.

Drawing that pol wasn't so bad. You got to save your hand and the previous card is in a good home.

Well, I guess with the discard it's all even.
I wasn't exactly talking about the stealing cards from hand bit, though. I was kinda expecting you to hit FTL on your turn .. ah well. Maybe that wasn't so bad, given we failed the FTL jump we did do.

As for sickbay .. I'm guessing it's my turn next?

I have quite enough lea in hand right now, time to vary it a bit.

To get back on topic: Glio is after me, then it's TNT. I can XO TNT, and right now is the safest moment to do it before it's TNT's turn, since an XO from Glio would mean he gets three actions in a row with nobody capable of stopping him of doing whatever it is he wants to do.
With the board in the current state he can't do terrible amounts of damage as a cylon, but if he reveals upon that XO we really can't do much to stop him.

Rules question: If a Cylon get's XO'd, and he uses his first action to reveal, does he still have a second action?
General question: Is it worth the risk?
