Secrecy rules means you cannot state iron will because it is played into the skill check rather than played before the skill check. However this time just leave it there since a few probably has seen it already.

Just to clarify:
It is OK to say you have things like guts and initiatives or investigative committee, because you play those before the skill check publicly.
You should avoid talking about things like iron will and trust instincts because they go into the skill checks and hence are subject to secrecy rules.

You can say that you have a Trust Int and Iron will if someone asks you about it, but you can't confirm that you are going to play it. So someone could ask if someone could Iron will it( Like you can ask if someone can play XO, SP, IC, PP or any of those) , and they can say yes under the Skill Card Abilities section of Secrecy rules, but they can't say that they did put an Iron will into the test, only that they can.

To quote the rule

So saying that you can Iron will a skill test should be fine, unless you want us to all sit around and wait for everyone to ask if anyone can iron will the skill test. EL: I can see where are you coming from, but the difference between something like SP vs IW is a matter of intent.

To take this even further, since there is only one 6 strength cards, consider this example:

If someone say they have scout for fuel and ask whether they should try to get more fuel now and decided against playing it. If he ever puts scouts for fuel into the skill check, everyone would know about it since there is only 1 scout for fuel card in the game. However the intent here was he mentioned it to aid his turn for his action, rather than for skill check purposes.

On the other hand he would breach secrecy rules if he suddenly mention he have a scout for fuel card just before the skill check, since it is impossible for him to play the card for its text effect, in essence he is trying to announce to everyone he is going to put a scout for fuel card into the skill check. (Assuming the discussion isn't related to strategies in future turns)

Given iron will only have affect in skill checks, no one should claim they have one. I am happy if you guys want to discuss the wisdom to use it for a particular skill check. Eg. "This skill check would be a perfect time for iron will" or "Is this a good time to use G&I?"

If the majority of the play group want to allow people mentioning iron will, that's fine with me, I can go with this in the future if 2 more people say they want to do it the other way. Although that somewhat turns iron will into a really strong card since it will be positive for all skill checks and are worth 4 strengths.
