I know - Am currently reading up on the specific rules on this. You'll have it shortly.

EDIT: Ok, have looked at things and is there any place that are better to throw in those civvies than others? My initial thoughts are to throw them into Delta or Foxtrot - Could not find any specific information on it.

Yeah, Echo and Foxtrot should be the best places to put them. Best is to escort them away ASAP though, we want a civvie in Delta and nowhere else, to maximise our chances of any raiders having to cross 3 space zones before they get anywhere dangerous.

Semi-randomly, really. Sectors 7-8 and 5-6 have the biggest chance to get new ships. If any sector is going to jump in individually, it is highly likely to be one of those sector.s
So we want our civvies in Foxtrot and Echo (where we can protect them) or in Delta (where they will kite the raiders around .. hopefully .. if there's nothing in Echo or Foxtrot to draw the raiders instead.)

There's a reason why there's a d8 roll attached to cylon ship placement - in theory, we could even SP it to get a bigger chance to stack all cylon ships in that sector :p

Plus you could throw in Calculations if you really wanted to make sure that nothing appeared in anything less then 4. (1+2+1=4) But that is even less likely then other things. Still, I should keep in mind that if it Helo turn, he can reroll that die if he has not used it yet. Although I certainly would like that preloaded from Helo if he thinking of doing so. Like SP and a little less Cals as those are post roll.

Not sure why people even think about using SP or calculation for dice roll on cylon ship placement, that's about as big a waste of those card as you can think of. There would be very few situation when that would be a good play and nearly always those situation would be near the end of the game.

Rendap: My recommendation would be as follows:
If you have a repair:
Move to Engine Room
Use CAG action to launch a good unmanned viper in ECHO (and pass CAG back to Apollo).
Apollo uses his ability to hop onto that viper and gain an action.
Apollo uses the free CAG action to launch another viper
Apollo XO you to do repair and (launch scout or just use engine room)

If you don't have a repair:
Launch into a good viper in ECHO
Use free CAG action to launch a good unmanned viper in ECHO.
Apollo uses his ability to hop onto that viper and gain an action
He can XO our president or if he don't have an XO, do launch scout or something to use up that action.

How does that sound?

EDIT:
Just saw Rendap's play, maybe you can check whether Apollo got an XO or not? By the way, repairing engine room is a MUCH better choice than repairing vipers.

Don't take me wrong, having the 'good' vipers repaired is nice, but as Glasszon's example showed, that CAG title can be pretty good if used properly. :)

edit: I don't have an XO handy anyway, and we *do* need to repair stuff. The only nit is that we have 2 damaged locations on Pegasus to repair, and the persuit track is moving up as well ..

Not sure why people even think about using SP or calculation for dice roll on cylon ship placement, that's about as big a waste of those card as you can think of. There would be very few situation when that would be a good play and nearly always those situation would be near the end of the game.

Oh, that is absolutely true.
I'm just mentioning the option because it exists.
Also, as EL points out, Helo's once per turn reroll could be used on it if nothing else (more important) turns up on his turn. It be wasted otherwise anyway :p

The persuit track and the prep track are looking like we might jump away just a turn after the cylons jump in. Good, as long as we avoid crisises with no jump prep :p
It's about time we start taking civvies off the board though, the next civvie placement we'll have to put a civvie in Charlie or Alpha if we don't do something to avoid it.

edit: A command activation may be the best way to deal with it. Too bad that I'm no longer CAG though (or have any XO's in hand..), otherwise we could make this really efficient :p


## Preload: If command is activated, take a Mark VII viper into Echo and escort that civvie off the board.

Play Tactics-1 (Launch Scout) targeting destination, use my reroll if the first roll fails.
If someone had scouted destination already after we jump (don't think that's the case, but just to be safe), then I will scout crisis instead.


Can anyone confirm no one have scouted destination since we jump?

randy: the best way to clear civ ship is to receive an XO while in command, then you can activate 4 unmanned vipers. While I can use command now but I rather take advantage of my OPT ability and having more civ ship isn't a big issue as long as I get an XO either on JL or your turn. I would have went with command had you still got CAG, but without CAG I think launch scout with my OPT is better

I scouted the crisis deck, and I think that was the only scout launched.
