Brutal 30 years war

I am playing as Jianzhou -> Qing and finished westernization about 1600 and got to see what was going on in Europe, so I noticed the 30 years war was raging and took a look at the participants.

It seemed pretty even, big nations on the protestant side included France, England, Ottomans and the leader Sweden was of decent size. The catholic sides big players where Austria(who had lost their dutch holdings to Netherlands already), Spain, Portugal and the Commonwealth.

The catholics was winning the war, Ottomans was taking a beating and got peaced out, but still it came down to a white peace, Peace of Westphalia. Then this happened.

Ottomans and Commonwealth were huge before, clearly in the top 5 of the world. I have never seen the Ottomans get this destroyed by rebels before, the Commonwealth sure that happened always before but I thought maybe not so much now that they are lucky.

In the picture you can see the Ottomans had to spit out, Epirus,Bulgaria, Syria, Ardalan, Albania, Bosnia, Serbia.

And CommonWealth lost almost all of their land when getting Kiev, Polotsk, Wallachia, Lithuania and Prussia(Danzig got all of those lands and formed Prussia wat).

I was really surprised and kinda dissapointed, I was looking forward to my final boss Ottomans when I reached them to claim the last silk provinces :/ Now nothing will even put of a fight the rest of the game.

Yeah it is pretty awesome, just surprising Also I wanted a strong Ottoman to fight but I guess its not too late for them to regain power!

Brandenburg and Prussia on the same map, this game is really funny. I'm surprised the Netherlands haven't taken a beating by France yet (it should happen soon).

That Epirus... I saw it form too (rebels, as usual). Not sure it should happen this way (shouldn't it Byzantines or Greeks?).

Of course, in my game, Ottomans used a reconquest CB (I think) and re-annexed it in one go (including provinces in Asia Minor and Crimea).

Yeah - I did precisely that in the 30 years war to the Ottomans while playing Commonwealth last night. Captured most of their provinces while their armies were flitting around the HRE - then their war exhaustion peaked. Explosion of rebels everywhere, and Austria simply wouldn't peace them out of the war for whatever reason until pretty much all their provinces were captured by some sort of rebel group. Must have been a hundred rebel stacks running around. Peasants, Orthodox zealots, nationalists of all types. All killing each other, too - quite fun to watch.

But yeah, Ottomans are kind of a glass cannon. If you can defeat their armies, and drive their WE up to 20, they totally collapse. Happens to Lithuania as well. It's why converting cultures is important.

I'm pretty sure the game just picks any of the Greek tags to generate nationalists for in this situation.

Hehe yeah they got a bunch of colonies too! And they seem to have beaten England at least once to get that random welsh province The map mod is called 1.8 GFX, theres an iron man compatible version

Yeah pretty cool, havent seen Epirus before, sadly Venice jumped them and have now taken most of their provinces Ottomans on the other hand has yet to reclaim anything

I went through Aleut into Alaska and down the west coast until I reached Mexico and met...France.

Anyway, I've never seen the ottomans fail to bounce back from that situation, so don't worry about it.

Indeed they should.
In my BRA/PRU game i have Netherlands in Zeeland, and Duchy of Holland, looks funny to me as well..
