What do the teal and brownish colored triangles beside the various stats symbolize?

If you edit a template by changing its unit composition, the green icon indicates that the division stats in that field will benefit as a result over the previous template. Likewise the red trangle indicates the stats will decline as a result. They are tied to beneficial/non-beneficial change and NOT simply increase/decrease.
