In my honest opinion the British rifle section 10man team needs to be equipped with the PIAT as standard,

the 2 man team is useless and is a waste of points, it should be incorporated in the infantry team.

likewise the PIAT is a useless piece of AT.

your thoughts?

It is a historical division template, British rifle sections where riflemen, but their range should be 800yds, basically 3 squads to a platoon. They got extra pay for marksman grade, so most where. 800 yards and they hit what they shot at.

Afaik the reason for their not having it is a historical lack of PIATs in the infantry on D-Day. Airborne units being prioritised for their allocation.

Besides, it's not like the Scots lack good AT at the moment. I'm not convinced of the necessity of this change. Not every infantry squad need be the same, I'm sure the Paras will be loaded with PIATs.

Yes.

As discussed in another thread, it was common for anti-tank weapons to be distributed as one per platoon, not squad. Hence why in such case we have chosen to give it to the platoon leaders.

Paratroopers and even Motor rifles (the mechanized infantry in the armored division) got them on the basis of one per squad, just like the American paratroopers & mechanized infantry.

This would be big nerf. Dont waste points on PIAT, this is garbage with very low accuracy. Buy the tank or AT gun.

When I kill something with PIAT this always looks like that:

i mean, the canadians seemed to like the gun, with it (...) rated extremely highly(
But what was the exact question asked to them?
Because ... you know the Canadians: they can tinker anything they got hold of into something completely different ... Maybe they liked it to club the Germans to death? Or for playing the organ?

A company headquarters would average about three platoons with three sections (plus HQ element) each under its control though. The extra PIAT teams represent those company-level assets quite nicely. A bump of the squad size to something that's a tiny bit more survivable if the ambush fails might be a better solution and could be applied across the board to all two-man AT teams.

You are correct, of course. Still, the RTS trope of two-man weapon teams doesn't really fit reality.
