British Raj - Events for when UK loses?

The British Raj is open to both Germany and Japanese influence should the UK be defeated in WWII against Germany.

I think we could use events along the lines of "What now?" if the UK gets annexed, since nobody really does anything to the British Raj if it stays out of the war.

Anyone got any thoughts? Would it go German? Japanese? Or even attempt to get help from USA?

How about simply independence? There's plenty of activity in that direction in the time frame.

Japan wouldn't tolerate a British India, and as it is part of what was to be the "Japanese sphere". It would be up to Japan...

Traditionally, they wanted to occupy the southern tip of India while the rest was to be an independent state.
