I will certiny follow this AAR!!!

But isen´t it time to get rid of Hitler?, So send him on that vacation, but forget to send the army...
But be sure to also pack down his favorite shirt, you know...
The shirt with very long sleeves!

Anyhow, I hope that you 16 divisions will be sent to Russia to help you make a breakthru!
Maybe to Finland, and then to eastern Karelia followed by a sweep south, east of Leningrad. A attack there will certinly make the Russians have to send reinforcements to prevent a Leningrad incirclement, thus weaken their "western" border a bit and it will maybe be enought to get you your breakthru!
If they won´t reinforce, you´ll incircle Leningrad, take it, and thus shorten your northern borders a lot!

Anyhow, good luck!

Likk9922: Youre most likely correct. And after thinking a bit about then I think it might be clever to avoid the subject totally. Any jokes near can end up very unapprobiate. I do not wish to commit comical suicide. So i´ll stay out, unless I get a brilliant idea.

walrus: You´ve guessed the location of the beach house. Congrats :D

Joppeius: Thats sounds like a very good idea. Which is precisly why I wont do it! I love the insane spin my AAR gets by being commanded by Hitler and Eva. :D About sending units to the east, theres two reasons why I wont. Again it would be the "logical, smartest and most intelligent thing" which is very unlike Hitler :p and secondly I´ve played ahead to 1.dec 44. So it will be hard to change anything....

Sorry if this update is a bit boring, im getting sick and just plain tired. Plus its just Italy... I need to varm up for the battle with our worst-enemy-although-they-dont-know-it-yet Spam (also know as Spain)

Its Shultz sand thats up the british behind!

13:00 October 26 1944.
Rome, Germany
Schultz Command Quaters

Shultz looked around. He was in command and he liked it! The first objectives in the first few days had been boring.... very... hold Naples against non-exsisting attackers then cut off the british escape routhe against virually no opposition. His only problem had been his troops fatigue.

naples.jpg

This changed a little less than a week later on october 14 when the british lauched a vicious attack from the east towards the west. There could be only one response, hold and counterattack. Soon after most of the penisuela was engulfed in a battle. The decisive battle.

naples2.jpg

However, just after a few hours the british began to waver. First the attempt to reconnect to sicily failed, and then the last british offensive was stopped. Which off course only gave the initative to him.

naples3.jpg

The following morning brought defeat to the british in Foggia who began moving north. Soon they were greeted by their comrades from the north fleeing the north to get south. It turned out none of the ways were secure. On the 17 october. The last real battle began, but it was over almost before it started.

naples4.jpg

The cleaning operation took until the 20 october. After that Schultz began to setup the units that would be defending Italy henceforth. The rest would go to either Spain or the East front. Finally he set up a air perimeter. Which quickly spotted the big american task force moving around south of Italy. It might be seen to move west, to avoid being trapped inside the meditaranien ocean when Gibralter fell. But this sounded intelligent, logical even. And Schultz knew the americans. This was likely a trick. They were most likely in fact heading east! Therefore he sent a letter to Headcommand.

Dear Headcommand.

Big 35 american taskforce seen moving east, away from Gibralter and anything remotely useful. Await orders to do absolutely nothing about it.

Schultz.

And finally there had been severel air encounters. Ending in plenty of enemy planes shot down. A entire american squadron of heavy bombers had for instance been totally oblivarated.

I must congratulate you. A fine comedy AAR, despite the more-"flexible"-then-even-the-americans-use spelling, and above all a great strategical masterpiece. Honestly, I didn't think you could do it before the end of 1944 (actually, I did think you could do it at all).

Now one nitpick: by "Mannerheim" you surely are referring to von Manstein.

You see, this is Erich von Manstein, famous German general during WWII:

And these are Manner wafers, famous Austrian wafers from Vienna:

Now imagine the German troops being lead by a pack of wafers ... (though it might explain the poor performance in Finland during the last few updates).

Anyway, I'm looking forward seeing the Oval Office being converted into Eva's new shoe cabinet. :D

You're right. My bad. I looked it up and it was Model, who was sent to help the Finns, not von Manstein. :eek:o

Operation Get-Me-A-Beach-House

18:00 October 28 1944.
London, Britain
Downing street 10, Hitlers easterresidens,
Hitler: Welcome Guderian, I am pleased to tell you that Eva has finished packing. We are ready to go on vacation. I assume you are as well?

Guderian: Well... Yes sir. We are ready. The attack will begin at dawn. We do not expect any real opposition.

Hitler: Great, just great. But.... uhm, wheres Rudolf?

Guderian: I tried to get him, but he said he had to finish some stuff in britain. You know, the ususal stuff. Buy presents for his former guards, visit them in jail, point out the irony, get rid of a tea addiction and so forth.

Hitler: Tea, whats that?

Guderian: A dreadfully addictive substance, sir. Everybody in britain does it. The nation is addicted, they even have a specific time to do this tea.
State subsidised tea I might add. I don´t think they can live without it. This might be why they, since last meeting, has launched two more attacks on edinburgh. Both neutralised now.

Britishlandings.jpg

Guderian: Strangely enough, the first attack was from a non-addicted nation.

Hitler: What nation?

Guderian: France but they had a british command.

Hitler: The solution to your logical problem is quite simple: They´re french....

Guderian: Uhm, yes sir. Ill proced with the debriefing. In dieppe the pocket has been neutralised, the ships carrying reinforcements has been neutralised and the division that was onboard neutralised.

dieppepocket.jpg

Hitler: Great, have the ships been redeployed to Bordeux?

Guderian: Yes sir. Well after a little trip that is. We started off by watching a show of american fear factor.

fearfactor.jpg

Guderian: A single german transport faced the mighty american battlegroup. The USS ranger, the aircraft carrier, became so scared that they stayed very far away. Dispite some minor damages, the ships survived the encounter. Had the americans close to big gun range, then this would be a very different story.

Once the sea was clear, the Hochseeflotte moved east. They were going to escort the newly finished transports to Bordeux. However, on the way. We received news that our light cruisers were under attack by the sovjets.

finnishnavalbattle.jpg

Guderian: They know these cruisers were not battleships. How they found out I have no idea.

Hitler: Binoculars?

Guderian: I doubt the russians have that advanced technology. Anyway later on, our big ships arrived in the gulf of Finland, eager to do battle. But the sovjets were nowhere to be seen. I´ve later heard that they are on strike, demanding less fighting and more vodka.

Few other intresting things happened during this period. Well except Athens being under repeated attack from 3 british divisions.

Hitler: What? 3 British marines attacking Athens?

Guderian: No, sir.

Hitler: What? 3 British infantery divisions attacking Athens?

Guderian: No, sir. Just two of them.

Hitler: What? And whats the last, armour?

Guderian: No, sir. French Militia

Hitler: What? I assume they have heavy naval support

Guderian: No, sir. Not a single ships.

Hitler: What? The british are doing a naval invasion with units not designed for it. And not any support. Have the british lost their minds?

Guderian: No, sir. But they are going cold tea turkey, it must affect their minds.

Hitler: Ohh well... I assume Athen is safe.

Guderian: No, sir. Our troops are dangerously close to breaking....

Hitler: What?... I assume Athen is not safe?

Guderian: No, sir. The british decided to stop their attacck before they took athens.

Hitler: You really like to disagree with me, dont you?

Guderian: No, sir.
