I miss these little guys.

All they needed was a proper unemployed notification and they’d have been golden.

Weak enough to prevent mineral abuse. Convenient enough to avoid annoying unemployment unhappiness (which is one boon of hive minds right? No dealing with factions/happiness at the expense of their bonuses?)

Scavengers gave a last resort alternative to producing minerals when low on natural resources. An alternative for not having trade value that can be converted directly into science (approx. half a mineral per clerk disregarding buffs/discounts) from consumer goods which is essentially minerals.

Very flavorful imo. Was fun to have around. Fun sells copies of the game. Profits keep free updates pumping out.

Oh wow, just checked in game and you're right. Unemployed hive pops give minerals still. Cool.

Still wish they had Scavengers listed as a job... gave them a bit of an identity that felt polished and fun see visually.

I'd delete the thread since they're apparently still there but not in writing, but it won't let me. *shrug* Thanks for the info^

Yea I think its just poor information management on their part. I was very dissapointed when I read the scavenger drone job got removed, however its still effectively there. It just has a different name and its easier to spot how many scavanger drones you have, because obviously you would want them to do other tasks which are way more efficient.

It's kinda the same with Servants (both robotic and slaves).

You don't get notification even though you have like 20 slaves sitting around producing amenities instead of something else.

We need the "no job" symbol in a different color so we know we have those guys around

Oh. Here's a stealth nerf they didn't include in the patch notes. "scavengers" aka unemployed pops no longer scale with empire bonuses. I remember very precisely having bonuses like the 15% mineral trait being applied to scavenger pops but that is no longer the case. I guess because they are technically "unemployed" now (which doesn't make sense as a hive mind but neither does half the stuff they do with the hive mind lore wise) they don't take the bonuses from said jobs anymore. You learn something new not in the patch notes everyday o.o

But they count as unemployed now, so if you have more than just a few you get unemployment events triggering.
