Someone asked for a mod to brigades a while ago, and since I haven't seen anyone else present any, I figure I might share what I've done:
- AA brigades receive better stats all around with added (minor) hard/soft attack. I made them take slightly longer to build, but they are still very cheap. I find them (with or without changed stats) useful to put on units that are under constant air attack. Say, my units in southern Spain and Morocco gets pounded by US bombers based on the island chain west of Africa. Interceptors don't get them all the time, so I've taken to giving the garrison units some AA for when the bombers get through.
- Rocket arty is now superior to normal artillery on soft attack. They're also now cheaper than before, but they eat more supplies (almost 2xnormal arty). SP RCT don't give any softness/toughness bonii - they were not fit for frontline duty. Hopefully, this should make SP ART more useful. RCT are still very good, but eating supplies should be a limiting factor to their use.
- SP ART gained increased hard attack. SP ART did pack quite a bit of anti-tank punch. This should make SP ART a very good brigade with fairly good hard attack, good soft attack, softness/toughness bonus and no speed penalty. They're fairly expensive, however.
- Removed org bonus for MPs; org bonus seems to represent superior recon and that doesn't make sense for MPs IMHO.
- Reduced cost for AT and TD brigades. Historically, TD were designed to be cheaper to produce than regular tanks, hence they should be cheaper IMHO. I didn't see any reason to increase their soft attack, so they remain pure tank killers. Playing the AI that might make them almost useless, but I didn't see any reasonable way around that.
- Several divisions were modded to allow for more brigade types (like cavalry + MP), which is an alternative way to make some brigade types more useful.
- There's also a fix for the models of German interceptor/fighters (the game seems to have switched Fw-190A and a Me-109 model).
