It seems that since a few city builders, bridges are a big problem. Especially suspension bridges.

In the real life, the suspension bridges are like that:

but in Cities XL and SC2013 it looks like that:

You know what I mean ? Will we have realistic bridges ?

I agree with you, the bridge in city builder is heavily unrealistic.. It's a problem. I think the SC4 system with many bridge style we can choose is the best so far. I'd love to see the lupu bridge in game, he's so beautiful!

Sc4 probably had the most realistic bridges to date, but that was largely because bridges could only be straight and the game would only let you build the larger bridges if the road was long enough. Sc5 and Cxl suspension bridges look awful because they are often too short and worst of all often curved which wouldn't work in real life. The roads on real bridges are usually humped, but most city builders depict bridges as being completely flat.

From the gameplay videos of CS so far it appears bridge types are linked to which type of road you are using. I hope there is an option to select the bridge type to use.

That was a good feature from SC4. If the span isn't wide enough to make it look right, you can't have a suspension bridge.

I agree with this completely. There should be restrictions to what kind of bridge type you select (for example having a too short suspension bridge), and also in terms of max allowed curving of the bridge. Hopefully we will have several types of bridges to select for EACH type of road. Please do not force us to only have one bridge type per road type. Realism is important.

Well, based on the info we have about the modding support, I'm sure we'll be able to add something like that in game. Or maybe as DLC.

This is what we we definitely don't want see in CSL - you got the idea :p

Yeah no, the only scenario where I see a bridge like this happen is if someone continually doses CO's lunch with small doses of LSD after a long period of subliminal messages convincing them that the world is upside down and that physics should be disregarded.

Or modders. Yeah, modders can definitely make it happen.
