A week ago I created this thread about Bren group being really bad. My calculations show the reason for this is that Bren group's HE value is bugged.

The "HE" value displayed on infantry cards takes into account both rate of fire and accuracy. It is rounded to the nearest whole number when displayed, but the mechanics of the game works actually works with fractions. Some examples:
  • Recon Thompson: 9 accuracy, 171 rounds/ming - ~6 HE
  • Riflemen Garand: 7 accuracy, 257 rounds/min - ~5 HE
  • Riflemen BAR: 6 accuracy, 218 rounds/min - ~3 HE
It's obvious that better combinations of accuracy and rate of fire result in better HE. Now let's compare Bren group's two Brens to the Grenadier squad MG-34:
  • Bren group Brens: 6 accuracy, 240 rounds/min - ~3 HE
  • Grenadier MG-34: 5 accuracy, 187 rounds/min - ~4 HE
This is the only case in the entire game where a unit with both better accuracy and rate of fire gets worse HE.

I think the dev team should also look at squads with single Brens. By their own system an MG-34 should have about 50% more HE than a Bren. However I suspect the bug may have weakened all Brens, not just double Brens.

Hmm, good point about that comparison. Although iirc HE is an manually set value that does not have a direct relationship with the damage a unit does.

Looking at other units, Bren group should have about 6 HE, double their current value.

Look at how the Garands and BARs compare in my OP. 1 more accuracy and ~50 more rounds/min = 2 HE.

Bren group has around 1 more accuracy and ~50 more rounds/min than a light MG-34. It should have an advantage of around 2 HE.

HE is a lie in the armory, similar to ROF. It just tells the player roughly how much damage a weapon will roughly do.
